January 5th: Students return to school

January 6th: Report Cards

January 18th: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (No School)

Winter Weather

Weather decisions are made by a district team who monitor conditions closely both through technology as well as by driving the roads throughout the district. If a decision is made to call or delay school, notification is made using the following:

1. The MSD Martinsville Facebook Page @https://www.facebook.com/msdmartinsville/

2. Notification to staff and parents through a mass phone call using our school messenger program. Please make sure you have the most up to date phone numbers in our system.

3. Notification to local radio and TV stations.

A similar process is also followed for days when school is dismissed early. Please keep in mind that there are also situations such as fog and flooding that could cause a delay or early release.

Also please note that should we release early from school, the YMCA after school program also closes and is not an available option for care.

Read to the Final Four

Our third grade classes are participating in the NCAA® Read to the Final Four® Reading Challenge. Along with thousands of other third graders from across Indiana, they are recording how many minutes they read. The classes will advance through rounds of competition that mirror the NCAA® tournament. The first round ends at the end of January. Stay tuned for how our third graders are doing! Keep reading, third grade!
