Government, Natural Resources, Economy, and History
Government of Africa
In Africa, there are many different types of governments, depending on the different African nations.
There are a few monarchies, with a king or a queen.
There are many nations that have leaders elected by popular votes, a 'flawed democracy'. There is often constitutional change.
There are also Authoritarian Regimes, where the authority is held in the people.
Economy of Africa
The economy of Africa consists of trade, industry, agriculture, and human resources. Africa has many resources, but many of the people there are poor. Africa is the world's poorest inhabited country, but over the past few years African countries have had the fastest growing economies in the world.
Natural Resources in Africa
Some natural resources that are found there are oil, diamonds, gold, iron, cobalt, uranium, bauxite, and silver. Also timber and fruit. Africa has a very large amount of natural resources.
History of Africa
Organized agriculture in Africa started by 6,000 B.C. Around 1,000 A.D., the Bantu speaking people spread out to present day Zimbabwe and South Africa. The Great ZImbabwe controlled trading routes from Zimbabwe all the way to South Africa. Between the 14th and 15th century was when the city of Zimbabwe finally gave out.
In the 15th century, Prince Henry decided to take over African territory. He succeeded and stole African's from their homes, making them slaves. It lasted until around 1730.
