Prevention Efforts at Forest Grove
Forest Grove, along with all of the other school sites in the Pacific Grove Unified School District, is taking steps to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
In addition to regularly washing our hands, trying not to touch our face, and avoiding shaking hands, Forest Grove is putting the following actions in place:
All student desks are being disinfected nightly.
In classes where we have 1-to-1 Chromebook use, students are assigned a specific Chromebook that only they will use.
Our site will receive microfiber cloths and a hydrogen peroxide solution that will be used by staff and students to clean keyboards.
Our computer lab technician will regularly clean the keyboards and mice used in the computer lab.
Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed throughout the school in common use areas.
- The day custodian will be wiping down high touch surfaces during the day
For more details regarding our district wide efforts to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus visit the district’s information page https://pgusd.org/school-classroom-disinfection-procedures/ .

The March Dine Out
Crayola ColorCycle Program
Forest Grove is kicking off 2020 by participating in a marker recycling program called Crayola ColorCycle. Crayola and K-12 students across North America are banding together to help kids understand the importance of their role in protecting the environment. Since 2013 the ColorCycle program has repurposed more than 70 tons of expended markers, using the most advanced plastic conversion technologies to make wax compounds for asphalt, roofing shingles and composite lumber, and to generate electricity through waste to energy recovery. These repurposing efforts help us care for the environment by reusing products, preserving resources, and reducing the volume of used markers going to landfills.
We encourage each of our classrooms to create a collection box for used markers. When it gets full, a student can bring the markers to the central collection box located in the waiting area of the front office. When the central box is full, one of our parents will collect the markers and send them off to Crayola. Great news…Crayola will accept ALL brands of plastic markers, including dry erase markers, highlighters and sharpies!
Thank you for your participation!
Are You Taking a Trip?
Forest Grove's Spring Break will be from
12:10 pm on Friday, April 3 - Friday, April 10th.
If you are planning a trip that will take your child out of school, please remember that you can apply for up to 10 Justifiable Absence days with the principal. Click here to access the form and have it turned in at least 2 weeks prior to the date(s) of absence. If approved, your child's absences will not count as "unexcused" absences and will then not count towards truancy.

Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
Speak Up. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
