Paularino News Panther Pride
September 10, 2021
Dear Paularino Families,
Another wonderful week at Paularino has come to an end. We are excited to open our library doors next week to students for the first time since March 2020. During last school year our librarian, Miss Rosi, created an online holding system for students to check out books, enjoy them, then return and quarantine them for the next student to read. During that time she transformed our school library into a wonderful space for students to explore books! From fiction to non-fiction, chapter books to favorite characters, Miss Rosi has given our students a beautiful space to expand their love of reading. I can't wait to see their faces then they step foot into our library next week. Thank you to Miss Rosi for all your hard work!
The Good News Club
The Good News Club, hosted by St. James Church, will begin meeting weekly at the Paularino lunch tables starting September 28. The Good News Club is free and will meet every Tuesday from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm. Students K-6 are welcome to join. Please click to see the English flyer or Spanish flyer or pick up a copy at the Paularino front office. Questions? Call Linda Fleming at (949) 929-2907.
Many parents have been walking through the parking lot to drop off or pick up their students which is very dangerous for pedestrians and drivers. Please use the sidewalk for the safety of all students, staff, and parents.
When in the car line please remain in your car. This will help the car line to move faster with children getting in and out on their own. A staff member will be there to assist if needed.
Thank you for your cooperation to keep all students, staff, and families safe.

In an effort to continue to provide accurate and up-to-date information related to COVID-19 in our schools, a District dashboard was created that identifies the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases by school. The number listed includes current positive cases of staff and/or students within the past 14-day period. This information is updated daily and is located on the District webpage for COVID-19 Resources for 2021-2022.
There is no need to be alarmed or wonder if your child has been exposed when you see a positive case at your child’s school site. The District follows protocols, which includes collaboration with the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA), who assist with contact tracing and help identify students or staff who need to quarantine. In the event of a positive case in our schools, as appropriate and under the direction of the OCHCA, the school nurse, principal, or District staff will notify any staff or students who are considered to be a close contact (less than 6 feet apart for more than 15 minutes) with a COVID-19 positive person. Each case is unique and in some cases, while uncommon, notification to low risk contacts MAY be necessary, based on the direction from the OCHCA. If you do not receive notification regarding a COVID-19 case, we do not believe your child has been exposed. Due to privacy laws, we cannot provide names or any other information about the people who test positive or those who have been in close contact.
