Jesse Boyd Elementary~~~ September 15, 2019
Aloha from Dr. Rose
We also appreciate the big turn out at Open House on Tuesday. I hope that you were able to learn about your student's Kahuna projects. It is important to help students continually work on those goals. In addition to their individual Kahuna projects, each class at Jesse Boyd has been assigned to a different "Island". These islands will meet periodically and will also complete a service project. Throughout each day, students earn chips when they are "caught" doing something awesome. These chips are placed in their Island's boxes in the front office. At the end of every week, those chips are counted and we have an Island of the week. We celebrate the Island in the lead (with the most chips) often. Our first celebration will be on Wednesday. Be sure to ask your student which Island they belong to and if they've ever earned a chip for their Island.
Thank you for your continued support of JBE! We appreciate all you do in helping make this school's tagline true..... "there's no place I'd rather be than JBE."
Picture Day
You will have an opportunity to purchase pictures once they have been taken. These pictures are used in our school's yearbook.
Early Release Day
Four times during the school year, all Spartanburg School District 7 schools will dismiss early for teacher professional development. The first of those days is happening this week on Wednesday, September 18th.
Just a few things to know about Early Dismissal Days:
*Attendance does count on early dismissal days.
*We will serve lunch on early dismissal days. If you do not want your student to have lunch at school, please send in a note to your student's teacher.
*If your student's mode of transportation home will change, your student's teacher will need that in a note. Remember that if someone different is picking up your student in the carline, they need a car tag.
*We will begin the dismissal process at 11:27am. Our teacher meeting begins at 12:15pm so it is important that all students are picked up by noon.
Bruster's at Lunch
In order to have this at lunch, students will need to prepay by WEDNESDAY, September 18th.
Lion King, Kids
Hub City Color Run
CAR LINE REMINDERS
Here are just a few reminders:
*Please pull up all the way up to the first available cone in the morning and afternoon.
*Have your student ready to exit the car with all papers signed and materials bookbag ready.
*Always have your car tag on your rear view mirror. Without a tag, the student will not be placed into a car. Should you need more tags you can purchase them in the front office.
