Class News 12-9-2016
Ask your child about our class book clubs! We have four book clubs going in which kids have a chance to read together, discuss together, and explore new words.
In math, we tackled decimals. We worked with rounding, comparing, ordering, and adding decimals. Next week, we will learn about subtracting decimals.
In time traveling, we flipped the classroom. Students worked in small groups to research, create presentations, teach, and quiz the class over a native american tribal region in our nation's pre-Columbian time period. The notes students have taken over the student led concepts are perhaps the best I've seen all year!
Learning Goals:
Time Traveling: I can investigate and infer reasons for European explorers to have traveled to the New World.
Writing: I can research information, create a presentation and quiz over a Native American tribe.
Reading: I can infer theme in fantasy and summarize.

They are very low maintenance, but love to have people around. Please consider giving our classroom pets a special vacation from school!
