Theatre Club has some exciting news for all you Theatre fans! This Fall, we will dive into some pretty cool stuff, including improv games, film and television techniques, monologues and songs, aka 60 seconds of fame, and a new activity - “Micro Plays.” A Micro Play is a 5-minute or less scripted play where actors get to perform in fully staged plays of 5 minutes or less! Meet Lauren!
Lauren Unbekant is a movement theatre artist, writer, director, visual artist and educator. As a movement artist Lauren has performed her original work nationally and internationally at such festivals as the Humorologie Festival in Belgium, The International Festival of Clown in Barcelona, Fira Tàrrega in Spain, The International Movement Festival in London, and Just for Laughs in Montreal. For more than a decade she was the Director of Educational Outreach for Syracuse Stage, as well as Faculty for Syracuse University Department of Drama. Lauren is a master teaching artist with a knack for comedy. She has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University and has had the great fortune of working and training with some of the world’s great masters in movement and character clown, (aka like Charlie Chaplin). Suffice it to say Lauren is a big fan of the Arts and is super psyched to pass on some of her knowledge of performance to a new generation of creative thinkers!
