A Message From The Principal
Dear Nashoba Families,
This week we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and National Nurses' Day. I would like to thank our staff and nurses for their dedication and commitment to all of our students. During this remote learning period, our staff has worked extremely hard to adjust their teaching and make sure our students are engaged. I also want to thank our nursing staff for everything they do for our students and staff.
Lastly, Happy Mother's Day to all of our Nashoba moms out there!
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Stephen Cullinane
Interim Principal

Athletic Department Update
A few updates...
Uniform Collection: Our athletic department will address any outstanding school issued uniforms that many student-athletes may still have in their possession – as we know many winter teams were not able to collect uniforms or have their end of the season banquets. We are working on a plan for turning in uniforms/equipment and will share it ASAP once finalized. However, please take the time to find your uniform and put it in a large ziplock bag with your name on it so it is easy to find when it is time to turn it in. Also, during this waiting process, you will see uniforms show up in your son/daughter’s PowerSchool account – this is to help our department keep track of what is out there.
Recognizing Senior Spring Student-Athletes: Please check out the Nashoba Athletics social media sites as we are honoring our spring senior student-athletes!
Fall Sports: I am planning on getting our fall sports online registration up and running very soon. Due to the school closure, we will not be able to host our annual fall sports meeting in June, so it will be very important for families to register their son/daughter early so I can provide email addresses to our fall coaches to share information about our programs. More information to follow!
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please feel to reach out to me via email (trich@nrsd.net).
Nashoba Strong,
Tania Rich
Director of Athletics
Note from the Health Office
Hello Nashoba Families!
We hope you are all well and finding ways to manage this new and evolving normal we are all experiencing. Would you like a non-covid update for a change? Well here’s some mostly non-covid information from our health office.
Many of you have medications and supplies in the health office. At some point, we will have a time when the school will be open and medications, inhalers, epipens, and any other supplies may be picked up from the health office. Once we have details on this, we will inform you and schedule a time for pickup.
If anyone has questions about this, feel free to email us.
Additionally, we wanted to notify you of an update in the state immunization requirements for students which will be effective in the new 2020-21 school year. This new requirement affects incoming 11th grade students. Please understand we do not want to create any undue pressure surrounding immunizations. Pediatricians are made aware of new school requirements, so they will likely mention the immunization at your next scheduled well visit if it has not already been administered. We just want to make sure we communicate the updated requirements to you. Please do not let this be a source of stress. We understand that many offices put well visits on hold during this time, so there may be a short delay in health visits.
The update will require all students entering grades 7 and 11 to receive the meningococcal conjugate vaccine MenACWY ("Menveo" or "Menactra" by brand name). Specifically for our high school students, 1 booster dose of MenACWY must be received on or after the student's 16th birthday. Please consider this new requirement when planning medical appointments. A printout of the physical exam and immunizations can be sent to the nurses. As always, the physical exam and immunizations can be brought to the health office in person (when school re-opens) or they may be faxed, mailed, or e-mailed.
Important note: Meningococcal B vaccine ("Bexsero" or "Trumenba") does not satisfy the MenACWY requirement.
Again, we hope you and your family are finding ways to relax and enjoy spring in our beautiful community. As always, please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. If your family is experiencing any type of loss or illness, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We have many resources to assist any families in need.
Thank you,
Nurse Sarah - sdelcontecosentino@nrsd.net
Nurse Laura - lsullivan@nrsd.net

The SAT is offering test dates on August 29 and September 26 as well as in October and November. Nashoba will be hosting the August, September and November tests.
