Mother's Day Activities at Willmot PS
I know this seems early but I wanted to get this information out as soon as possible. Mothers' Day stall will be conducted by the P & C on the 8th May in the school hall. Could I ask Sharon to put a roster together for this (Sharon - students form the choir and the dance group will need to go first as they have to perform at a morning tea over at the Willmot Community Hub.)
Marsha and Sarah - the choir will be required to perform 2 songs and the dancers will need to perform 1 dance. The morning tea will begin about 10.45am (will get back to you with a confirmed time.)
All teachers - The Willmot Community Group would also like us to make Mothers' Day art works again. They will do the same thing that they did last year - auction the artworks at the morning tea they are hosting. All proceeds will go back to the school. Could all classes have their artworks sent to the school office by no later than Thursday 30th April. Peta Kennedy for Willmot Community Group will pick up the art on Friday, 1st May. (could Leanne put all of these dates on our school calendar please.)
Willmot Whisper Articles due from....
- Specialist Teachers - could Karen and Sandra (Library) and Marsha (Reading Recovery) put something together please
- Learning and Support- (could Danielle and Lorrinda) coordinate a report from EAfS and LaST please
Please put your article on common drive / Whisper Articles / Term 1 / Week 8
What a week!
It has been a pretty horrendous week for behaviour... On Friday we had 12% of our school on Reflection. This shows that our School-Wide systems are suffering...
AS a result, we need every teacher and SLSO to be vigilant in their duties of supervision. I have uploaded an Active Supervision fact sheet to our PBL folder on our Edmodo site (see sample pic below). You will also find it on common drive under Teacher / Teachers / 2015 / PBL / Active Supervision.
We are also working hard at introducing classroom PBL to as many classrooms as possible to reduce the number of problem behaviours coming from the classroom learning environment.
Saw this on my walk this morning... food for thought....

You may have seen Chris from e-Flo around the school last Wednesday. He will come in for a few Wes until we can get all of our tech trouble shooting sorted out. He then will come on a needs basis. He will also help Ashley and Phil to get the iPads sorted out and in to classrooms. We would like stage teams to come up with a list of Apps they would like to be downloaded - free or paid Apps. We have a budget...
Chris will also be helping us to work out which computers need to be sent to computer heaven... Sue Lake will send around a list - please write down any computers in your classrooms that are not in use and you are happy to have recycled elsewhere in the school or moved on to computer heaven. This list will need to be finished by Weds so we don't waste Chris' precious time and our money!
Danielle attended a webinar about the Android XO update. Hopefully this information will be shared with K-2 as soon as possible.
