#YouMatter
Week 12 - November 4 - 8
I hope you all enjoyed your extra hour of sleep last night! After last week I think we all needed and deserved that hour (and maybe a few more)!! Thank you to everyone for participating and making last week fun for our students. We will start this week with Parent/Teacher conferences. If you would like Ms. Yarborough or me to attend a conference and haven't mentioned it to us yet, please do so as soon as possible. Please make sure to have a sign in sheet for your conferences and turn those into Ms. Yarborough on Tuesday.
SIP meetings will be held this week. Please make sure you have the information sheet completed and Enrich data up to date for all of your SIP students prior to the meeting. We will be moving 1st, 2nd, and Elementary Montessori SIP meetings to Thursday during regular planning instead of Wednesday.

Books Donated to BSE
Aniya Mahaffey, a journalism major at Newberry College, chose Children's Literacy as her platform for the Miss Newberry pageant and we were the benefactor. Aniya was a student mentor at BSE and said one of her most cherished tasks was reading to the students. She said it gave her such fulfillment and an opportunity to aid in supporting Newberry county students. Her goal is to shed light on the importance of literacy in children and to raise awareness to this issue. On Friday she brought us all of the books she collected through donations. We will let you know how we will distribute these books. We are very thankful she thought about us!

Thankful Thursday Board
I know several of you noticed the Thankful Thursday board in the office workroom. Let me explain this board a little more:
- All of the sticky notes on the board have a name written on the back.
- The idea is for you to choose a random sticky note.
- Look at the name on the back of the sticky note.
- Finish this sentence about the name on the back of the sticky note: "I am thankful for _________(insert the name from the back of the sticky note) because _______________."
- Stick the sticky note back on the board for everyone to read.
I have loved reading these sticky notes. We have some wonderful people at BSE, and we need to tell them!!!!

5th Grade Group
This week we shared the above video with our 5th grade mentor/leadership group. We focused on the following message:
"YOUR BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH! HERE'S THE CHALLENGE THOUGH, YOU NEED TO BE AT YOUR BEST MORE OF THE TIME!"
Think about that for just a minute! Pretty powerful stuff!
