8A RE - Hacking The Inner Me!
Welcome Back!
This week we are looking at the key person in the New Testament (other than Jesus), Paul. Paul travelled extensively starting churches and writing letters which dealt with everyday issues people were concerned about such as : how to treat each other, finances, relationships, taxes, slaves and more.
We are going to look at a little letter he wrote to Philemon. It is a letter that will take you only a couple of minutes to read (Glo Bible - New Testament - Philemon), but it gives you an idea how Paul constructed his letters and the tools he used to persuade others to take his ideas on.
Before tomorrow, please read Philemon and write down:
what it's about,
why he is writing,
where he is and
how he writes the letter.
Also watch the video on persuasion below and try and work out how Paul uses the tools of persuasion in his letter.

Who wasPaul?
As a result of that event Saul was troubled and found himself confronted by Jesus. Read Acts 9 in Glo Bible for the story.
After some time being re-educated he became the person responsible for the spread of the Christian faith and for educating those who took up the faith.
See his story on wikipaedia.

Science of Persuasion
The Six Steps of Persuasion
• Reciprocity - responding to what has been done for you
• Scarcity - making it special
• Authority - recognising the special skills or position
• Consistency - what you do fits with what you say
• Liking - people rarely do things for those they don't like
• Consensual - agreeing to share the idea and the action
