2020-2021 Building Goals
- All students will grow academically. We will communicate growth and concerns to guardians on a regular basis via work being sent home, phone calls, emails, and assessment results
- Students will grow in their social and emotional learning (SEL). We will present lessons from adults regularly and are also implementing a peer-to-peer curriculum about being a good person to others and yourself.
- We will increase our positive communication with families. Both administration and teachers will take active and consistent steps to make positive connections with families.
Dissmissal & Arrival
Please know we continue to improve both Dismissal and Arrival. We need all families to pull in. Once cars in both lanes stop moving we will allow the students to move.
For Arrival please remember if you are in the far lane you must get out of the car and walk your child across. The light of day makes arrival more complicated and we want everything to ensure safety and efficiency.
Digital Flyer Delivery Will Start In September!
Exciting news! In an effort to provide increased access to programs and resources that improve the trajectory of our students’ lives, Northwest Local School District is preparing to launch Peachjar. This new platform will enable our district to send important school and approved after school flyers to parents digitally, saving our schools time, money, paper, and will help decrease the potential of spreading germs.
School-approved digital flyers will be sent to your email inbox where you can easily click to sign up for events and programs.
No action is required to begin receiving this communication from your school. You’ll receive a welcome email from Peachjar that includes a username and password. You don’t need to log in to receive or view school flyers, but you can login to adjust your delivery preferences.
To ensure you don’t miss notifications, we suggest you add school@peachjar.com to your email contacts and click “always display images” when you receive your first email.
This system is used exclusively for the distribution of school-approved flyers only. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose. Thank you for supporting our efforts to ensure parents are well informed about school programs, activities, and events!

Too Much Technology for your kids?
The extended time at home has most of us picking up some bad habits, adults and kids alike! We've heard many parents comment on the amount of time their child spends on technology. It's never too late to make a change - here's one idea from Kid Whisperer, Scott Ervin.
Explain to your kids that you have made a terrible mistake and allowed them too much screen time. Explain to them that they may have 30 minutes of video game time and 30 minutes of TV time. This 60 minutes of time should take place in the living room (or common area) and the living room only.
Explain to your kids that all meals will be eaten at the family dinner table with no screens on as this is a time to spend together as a family and catch up on how everyone is doing and feeling.
If and when your child gets angry, support them and how they feel but explain to them that addiction to screens is a real thing and let them know you believe in them and that you will help them through it. Give them other ideas such as reading a book, chores around the house, play outside, etc. This phrase can be useful in providing your child with some options: “Feel free to do anything that does not cause a problem for anyone”.
If they decide to do screen time, not in the time limit or space you provided, they lose that time until you feel like they are an expert on knowing the rules of “screens” in your house. If they repeat breaking the expectations, maybe a neighborhood child would like games donated to them by your child or even a long-lost hiding spot will work!
