Principal's News
Yesterday we enjoyed an amazing day for our annual Cross Country. With near perfect running conditions, our students and staff had a fun filled day 'cutting laps' of our campus to complete their required distances for the event.
Thank you to the parents and friends who came along to spectate and cheer on our athletes.
What stood out to me the most was the 'happy noise' of our community returning to a sense of normality! I spent a moment, almost run down by some students running straight for me, reflecting on the trials of the last few years and thanking God for the 'now'. For our incredible students, ever professional staff and the community that is Trinity, for the opportunities we have to now start to rebuild all the great events and activities that our students have not been able to participate. Thank you God.
We look forward to being partner with you as we rebuild our community and the events that makes our school such a great place!
May you and your family have a peaceful and blessed weekend.

Anzac Day
Thank you to our College Captains and Primary Captains for representing our College at the Mildura ANZAC Day Ceremony and Irymple Ceremony on ANZAC Day. We also thank all of our college families who attended one of the numerous services held locally, such an important time for us to give thanks for the freedoms we have in our country and acknowledge the sacrifices made by so many.
At our Opening Chapel on Tuesday, we shared the story of Simpson and his Donkey, reflecting on the sacrifices he made and giving thanks in prayer for our ANZACS.
Classes have spent time this week focussing on ANZAC learnings, including understanding the significance of the poppy, the components of an ANZAC ceremony and the reasons for our acknowledgment of the day. The centre photo below shares one of our secondary PCG class ANZAC displays.

COVID-19 Update
With the recent easing of restrictions in Victoria, it has meant some further changes to the operations in schools. Below is a summary of the major changes impacting our families:
HOUSEHOLD LIKE CONTACTS
With the changes to the recent State Government operating guidelines, household like contacts of positive COVID cases are now able to attend school as long as they wear a mask indoors and complete a RA Test each morning before attending school. This applies to all students and staff, we are hopeful that this change will provide a less disruptive term for all of us!
VACCINATION STATUS
The vaccination status of visitors to the college is no longer required to be checked to attend functions and events. All volunteers and employees or casual workers are required to comply with the vaccination mandate.
MASKS
Staff and students are no longer required to wear masks (unless they are in their 7 day period of household like contacts). However, the college welcomes any member of our community who wishes to wear a mask to do so.
COVID POSITIVE CASES
All staff and students who test positive to COVID are required to enter a 7 day isolation period. Positive cases are not required to test or isolate for a 12 week period from their date of release from isolation, assuming they remain symptom free. Any member of our community is asked to stay home is showing signs and symptoms of being unwell.
FUNCTIONS AND EVENTS
We are able to begin to welcome our community back to the campus for the events and activities that we all miss. Please keep an eye on communications throughout the terms for information and notice of these.
2023 Prep Enrolments
Are you a current Trinity Family who has a Prep student starting school in 2023?
We are almost full for Prep 2023! To ensure your child is offered a place, please do not delay in submitting your application.
Applications can be completed online or call to speak to Pasqualina Pascale for additional enrolment information.
Strategic Vision 2022-2025
Our College Board and Executive are in the process of the development of our next Strategic Vision for the College. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to focus on the great things happening at Trinity and identify the areas for growth as we continue to grow into the best college that we can be.
Our community's voice is important to us and at various points in the process, we will be seeking feedback and ideas from members of our community. Below is a graphic of our Strategic Vision Roadmap.
NAPLAN Assessment
The NAPLAN assessment period will be held at Trinity College from the 10th to the 18th of May for students in Years 3,5,7 & 9. For the first time, our school will be using the online version of the tests. Students have been given the opportunity to practice using the new format so that they are familiar with it.
NAPLAN is one of many assessment tools that are used to track student progress as well as informing teaching practices in terms of covering the requirements for the Victorian and Australian curriculum. NAPLAN is a snapshot of a student’s results on one day and provide a guide to areas of progress and support for each learner.
At Trinity, while we encourage our students to work to the best of their ability, we do not put undue pressure on students to achieve results. To help your child during the NAPLAN testing period, we encourage families to ensure their child has a good breakfast and is well rested.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding NAPLAN, please contact Carolyn Megson or Damien Evans.
