May/June 2018 Chalkboard News
Principal Note
Within a few days, Ms. LoGrasso will be welcoming her third child, a girl, into her family. She will be going on maternity leave soon and will enjoy time with her family between now and next August. I hope you all join me in wishing Ms. LoGrasso well over the next three months. With Ms. LoGrasso's absence comes a long-term substitute to fill in between now and the summer break. I'm sure our substitute will do an outstanding job. It is important to note that no matter how amazing the substitute is, there is no way to fill the shoes of Ms. LoGrasso. Please bear with us as we embark on the busiest time of the school year without our superstar in the office.

Romeo Reads Project
It is so important for students to read all year round and this endeavor will help to support students of RCS in their reading for pleasure efforts. This is a project that will start this spring and continue to grow and expand as we tap into community resources. The mission is to encourage and support students to read all year long. The Twitter and Remind accounts will be used to send out reading reminders, tips and to notify families of any reading events that may be promoted over the summer.
The Twitter handle is @RomeoRdsProject
Parents can sign up for Remind via this Link Romeo Reads Project Remind Link
Green School Environmental Tip
Earth Friendly Landscaping
When landscaping your yard, you can protect your kids, pets, and the environment from harm. Use pesticides sparingly. Put mulch around trees and plants. Water your lawn only when it needs it and choose plants native to Michigan. Once established, they will tolerate dry weather and resist disease.
