South Grove Intermediate School
News and Notes for April
From Mrs. Reid
Spring is finally here! We were so glad to be back refreshed from the two week spring break. Teachers and students seemed excited to be back and no one seemed to miss a beat! Spring is always busy for South Grove beginning with the 4th grade Spring Concert Thursday, April 10th. We have guest speakers, field trips, 6th grade visits to the middle school, second round of ISTEP testing, Muffins for Moms, Donuts with Dads, awards day, Survivor Day, and lots of learning along the way! Please check the newsletter for an updated calendar of events.
Report cards came home prior to our spring break. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher. Remember that attendance is very important. Have your student at South Grove every day before8:45. Students are more successful when they get to school on time, eat breakfast and are ready to learn.
Encourage your students to continue to read AR books each day. All students have personal reading goals that need to be met before the end of the 4th 9 weeks. AR is part of the reading grade. AR motivates students to read books in their reading range, pass tests, and meet their personal AR goal. AR provides reading practice with a book the student has picked. Practicing reading each day makes students better readers! Support your young readers by requiring them to read each day.

Walking with Mrs. Hartwell
Mrs. Bair's girls got their GLOW on for the week and enjoyed pampering, baking, manicures, and just plain girl fun. Mr. VonDielingen's guys worked the court, practiced their basketball skills, and hooped it up! What an amazing experience and great way to get to know these two sixth grade teachers.
