Our Mission: To Glorify God by making More and Better Disciples

From the Office

Hi everyone!

Welcome to this week's CRC newsletter! Here you will find time-sensitive announcements, events, service schedules, offering schedules, and prayer list. I will send these out at the end of each week.

I’m really excited to be joining the staff as the Church Office Administrator. My husband Frank and I have 3 children, Ashlyn (18), Alana (14) and Aiden (11). We spend most of our free time watching the three of them play various sports. Prior to accepting this position, I worked at Wilson Middle School as the Athletics Director\Campus Supervisor. I hope that over the course of the next few months I get the chance to meet you all.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

In Christ,

Becky - Church Office Administrator

SUNDAY, June 13 - 9:30am

This Sunday text: Matthew 10:1 "Mission Ready Disciples"

LiveStream options are available on Facebook, our Church Website, or via Boxcast (Roku/Apple TV) and Podcast.

As mentioned last week, we will be adding the "offering" portion back into our liturgy beginning this Sunday. In an effort to facilitate thoughtful and prayerful gifts to the church and kingdom, the deacons will be letting us know the "special" offering schedule as soon as possible. By all means please continue to utilize the "on-line" giving option if that has proven to be useful to you. It's the best way to keep records for us all. Thank you for all the generous gifts received throughout this difficult time. God is good.

Hanford CRC Podcast!

Did you know that now you can listen to our latest sermons through your favorite Podcasting services?

Why Podcast? Podcasts give you the ability to listen anywhere without having to worry about your internet connection, or using too much data. Listen in the car, at the gym, or while you're out working on the farm, ranch, or dairy. Simply put, podcasts are easily accessible and portable so you have the freedom to tune in anytime from anywhere. Pretty cool, huh?

Find our Hanford CRC Channel on Spotify, Apple Podcast, or Online direct from your favorite mobile device.

Council of Delegates Meeting

For the second year in a row, the Synod Meeting (our annual, bi-national meeting) has been canceled due to Covid-19 protocols remaining in place. However, the Council of Delegates is going to meet this week in order to take up the most significant issues that need to be dealt with now. Please pray for the members of this council as they meet beginning on Wednesday of this week.

Children's Worship

All parents of children ages 3-8 are invited to meet with Pastor Lambert upstairs in "The Loft" immediately after our worship service this Sunday morning. Hopefully all of you can attend this important opportunity to be informed regarding the future of this program.

Taco Night

Hello, all Families of CRC,

We invite you to come and join us as we welcome the summer. Our Family Summer Extravaganza program is well on its way! With that being said, we will be hosting taco night on June 19 at 6pm. We will be serving tacos, rice & beans for all.

Mark your calendars: our next Hymn Sing is tentatively schedule for July 25th at 5:00pm in the Sanctuary.

Associate Pastor Search

Our background and reference checks are complete. Our search process continues on schedule. Our lead candidate is still on track. Please continue to pray for the team members in their efforts to discern the Lord's will in this regard.

Front Lawn Renovation Project

The plans are now under review by the City of Hanford. Once the site plan review process is complete, the next step will be the issuing of building permits. We received several positive comments about the design and a few concerns as well. The most common concern centered on the "depth" of the water in the fountains. The water will be no more than 8 inches deep and there will be a "grate" system to prevent anyone from actually getting into the fountain.

Back-Packs for Monroe Elementary

One of the events we have planned this summer is a "Back-Pack" gift project similar to the "Christmas-Box" project we used to do a few years ago. We have 300 back-packs available and we are looking for donations for filling these packs with essential resources for the students (paper, binders, pens, pencils etc.) If you would like make a special gift in support of this project please do so. We could use gifts of any kind or monetary gifts which we would then use to purchase materials for these packs.

It's that season of the year once again where students mark key milestones in their education. Congratulations to all our 8th, 12th and college graduates. May each of you find the Lord's blessing as you progress in your preparation for your life's work.

Thank you

Dear Church Family,

Thank you so much for your kind expressions of sympathy in the recent passing of our Mom and Oma, Rena de Jong. Whether you sent a card or a text or just stopped to give one of us a hug, we appreciated it all! We will miss our Mom and Oma but feel so blessed to have had her! The de Jong, de Haan, Carpenter and Bergman Families.
