ISTEP testing begins on February 26th. At Everton, students in grades three through six will be participating in ISTEP. We, of course, want all of our students to do their very best. Teachers have been giving their students practice with items structured like those found on ISTEP, so students will be comfortable with the ISTEP testing format.

The Indiana Department of Education offers many resources for parents to also see what ISTEP questions are like. You can go to the following web site to learn more about ISTEP:

The first testing of ISTEP will be on applied skills. Tests will cover math, reading, and language arts. Fourth and sixth graders will also have science, and fifth graders will have social studies.

Testing can be very stressful for children. Attitude also speaks volumes. Children will mirror the attitude of the adults in their lives. Let’s be sure to give them the “can-do”, positive attitude they need to do their best.

Mastering Math Facts: How We're Doing!

I shared last month a goal for our students in grades 3-6 to master the math facts for their grade level by the end of February. Wow, have our students responded! Take a look at how our students are doing.

Science Bowl Results

Everton's Science Team placed 12th in their division in the state-wide Science Bowl competition. We are very proud of our students' accomplishments!
