Morningside Parent Newsletter!
This month we will have our Parent TownHall on the following dates; April 13th(6th grade) , April 14th (7th grade), and April 15th (8th grade). The links will be sent out at a later date . We will have a Financial Literacy Night for Parents on April 22/2021 . Below is the google form to help us narrow down what we need to focus on based on the responses received.
The Palmetto Place Project will be hosting vaccine clinics on the following date & location but you must REGISTER by calling the following number, (833) 625- 4584. It is a voicemail, but you will receive a reply.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update (information provided by Tyra Johnson)
Governor Henry McMaster and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced that all South Carolinians aged 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning March 31, 2021, and can begin scheduling their appointments as of today. There are new updates to this year's tax filing!
- The new tax filing deadline is May 17, 2021. Click HERE to start filing for free with SC Thrive.
- People who received unemployment income last year won't have to pay taxes on the first $10,200 of their unemployment income. Click HERE to learn more.
Eviction Moratorium Update (information provided by Tyra Johnson)
Eviction Moratorium extended until June 30, 2021. By signing a Declaration and providing it to your landlord, you may be protected by this extension. Please see attached Declaration form and moratorium information.
Student Summit (Clemson)

Gaillard 2021 Summer Camps
We are excited to announce our Education and Community Program's 2021 Summer Camps. Jazz, dance, and theater camps offer students in the Lowcountry opportunities to learn and thrive through the performing arts @ https://gaillardcenter.org/outreach/educational-programs/summer-programs/
Your child’s safety is our number one priority. This year, we have limited our camp sizes and we remain committed to following the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the local guidelines from the City of Charleston. We have already implemented numerous safety precautions for current events, which you can learn more about here.
Palmetto CAP Summer Youth Works!
Applications Available. We are accepting applications for Palmetto CAP's 2021 Summer Youth Works! Program. We offer PAID summer internships to high school students currently in the 10th - 12th grade and current college and certification students that are 24 years of age or younger. Income guidelines apply. Please share our information and application link with local youth today.
