CELC News & Updates
CELC Families,
Our first PBIS Awards Assembly was held on Friday, October 6th. Congratulations to the students that received awards for Pawsitive Leadership and Pawsitive Citizenship. Our Cubs are safe, responsible, and respectful future leaders! Our next assembly is scheduled for November 3rd.
Does your Cub have a special veteran in their life? Mark your calendar for our Lunch with a Veteran event. Cubs are encouraged to invite their favorite veteran to join them for lunch on Thursday November 9th. Stay tuned for more information.
Here are a few updates to help keep you informed:
- Have you noticed the sidewalk improvement? A huge thank you to our neighbor and Cub grandparent to bringing the need to our attention.
- Did you know that kids 12 and under get free admission to 50+ museums in October? Check out opportunities or free family fund at https://sandiegomuseumcouncil.org/specials/kidsfree/.
- A huge thank you to AEF for your work with the Wheel of Experts. Our students enjoyed their first week of Wheel of Experts. Students enjoyed music, gardening, and robotics lessons.
Please send any pictures from the Awards Assembly to Stephanie Green.
See information below about our Annual Turkey Trot.
Students are expected to follow school rules while on campus. Please help support safe, responsible, and respectful behavior while you are on campus with them before and after school.
As a reminder, the playground is not open for families/students dismissed at 1:35 pm. The area is still being utilized for CELC kindergarteners and ESS students. Thank you for your support.
We LOVE volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please pick up the required paperwork in the office. Please take the time to do it now. If you are not up-to-date on your TB clearance, make sure you allow time to get that done. We also need time to complete a background check.
- Please send your student to school each day with a backpack, refillable water bottle, a healthy snack, and a lunch (unless they are getting a cafeteria lunch).
For the safety and security of students and staff, gates are locked during school hours.
- Please use the front gate for entering and exiting the campus. the side gates are for employees only and must remain closed.
Please report any absences to your child's teacher and the office. Please let the office know the reason that your child is out and any symptoms if they are sick. Email Mary Barkely, our amazing Clerk or call the office at 619-659-8250.
Before and after school care is available. Please see the flyer below or contact Aimee Hatfield, AUSD's ESS Coordinator, at ahatfield@alpineschools.net if you have any questions.
