Newsletter Week 5 Term 2 2022
St Joseph's Catholic School Morrinsville - MAY 31st
Principal's Message
As you know, a letter went out yesterday from our School Board informing you that after seven years of leading our school, I am resigning from my position as Principal to take up a new Principal position at Kaimai School. What you may not know is that I currently live in Mt Maunganui and travel over to the Waikato each day. I have had to make a very difficult decision and allocate priorities working closer to home. I absolutely love St Joes and am so proud of our school, tamariki and community. My heart is so sad but I know that our school will continue to grow and thrive! Thank you so much for your amazing support and letting me be a part of your child's education. My new position begins at the start of Term 3 so there is plenty of time to say goodbye. The Board are currently organising the next steps in the leadership process and will keep you informed.
Last week we had four covid community cases in school. We currently have seven families needing to isolate. Thank you for being so diligent and testing when symptoms arise. We have RAT tests available. If you would like a pack sent home, just contact the school office or send a message to the class teacher and we can arrange this for you. Please continue to contact me when you have a household case principal@stjoes.school.nz.
We wish our year 7/8 teams the best of luck as the compete in the Catholic Inter Schools General Knowledge Quiz today, held in Hamilton. We have fifteen representatives. You've got this!
We have a couple of events coming up, our school cross country and student led conferences. We look forward to seeing you at both.
Have a fantastic week, take care and God bless.

Parish Catering Team ... Can You Assist
We are a group of volunteers who cater for funerals
(and sometimes other functions) at the
St Joseph’s Church, Morrinsville.
This is rather a social activity, as we get to chat as well as provide a vital service to our Parish family, at a time of need.
We have a morning crew, who prepare sandwiches and set up and an afternoon crew who serve and clean up.
If you could spare an occasional 2 hours to help, please contact
Barbara ph 027 309 4362 for more information. Many thanks.
Congratulations to our core value certificate recipients. You are shining!
