Meet Our Kindergarten Team!
Our Kindergarten Team has a few new faces but are no strangers to working with our youngest Bennett Tigers. All our kindergarten teachers have experience working in kindergarten and preschools and we are so lucky to have them on our team!
Overheard in kindergarten this week...Upon being asked what they wanted to be when they grew up a few answers were as follows-- a vet, a police lady, a mermaid and Wolverine. It is never a dull day in the world of our primary school and sure do appreciate you sharing your children with us!
Students learning and working on district supplied technology

CELEBRATING KIDS WITH OUR UPCOMING EVENTS
They Say It's Their Birthday!!
Attached, you will find a flyer for families to participate in celebrating their child(ren)'s birthdays at school! Beginning this year, we are offering families the option to purchase a "Birthday Bag" filled with little birthday goodies for $5. We will attach a message and deliver it to the classroom on the special day of your choosing, which will be great for long distance family members still wanting to be involved!
Calling On All Our Cool Cats and Kittens!!!
Is your kiddo super cool and rad?! We want to know! I will be dedicating a section of our newsletters to spotlight the amazing students in our school. All I need from you is to send along a 1-3 photos and a blurb telling us about your student and the cool sport, award, or neat things they've been able to do and we will add them to our newsletters. We know we are amongst really cool students and want everyone else to know too! Email btravis@bsd29j.com ***Please note that our newsletters are posted on our district website and can be accessed by the general public***
Start With Hello Week Sept 19-22nd
This year we are implementing a new program called "Start With Hello" which encourages students to reach out, make friends, and take part in random acts of kindness, so that all feel welcomed and included at school. Each day throughout the week of Sept 19-22, Mrs. Upton, our school counselor will offer our students activities to help make new friends and talk through different ways to include everyone. The week will also include dress up days-watch for a flyer coming home soon!
October Count and School Spirit Day
Each year, public schools participate in October Count Day to receive funding for our schools. This funding helps pay district salaries, purchase school resources and classroom materials and one of the big determining factors is student attendance/enrollment in our school. To celebrate our school and help with attendance, we will be hosting a "Dress in your pajamas day" and students may bring a small item that fits within their backpacks (and isn't or has not been alive) for class Show and Tell in the morning after attendance.
For more information on October Count Day, please follow this website: https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdefinance/auditunit_pupilcount

Helping Your Student Helps Us!
Bus Rider, Walker, Pick Up: We understand that your littles have quite a bit of information coming at them, which is why each backpack is tagged indicating how they get home each day. If you see that they are missing their tag, please contact your child's teacher. Also, please repeat, repeat, and repeat again, with your child(ren) how they get home. At school we use the terminology Busser, Walker, or Pick Up.
