Recognizing Our School Resource Officers
Monday, January 9 was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, so we recognized the tremendous relationship the district has with the Pasco Police Department and their School Resource Officers (SRO) who work in our middle and high schools during the board meeting.

Board Progress Monitoring Reports with CEE Help
John Steach, CEO of the Center for Educational Effectiveness, presented information regarding monitoring of PSD's Outrageous Outcomes during a study session.
After reviewing the methodology of measuring Outrageous Outcomes, benchmarks, and indicators, Board members were asked to provide feedback.
Next steps include making the recommended changes to the data visualizations and providing additional opportunities for Board discussion.
Annual District Objectives: Community Education—Bond
Anna Tensmeyer, Director of Public Affairs, updated the Board on the district’s work in alignment with the Board recognized action plan for the Annual District Objective Community Education: Bond.
Mrs. Tensmeyer reviewed the different communication strategies and tactics the district has used to communicate information about the upcoming February 14 Bond to staff, parents, and community members. She also reminded the Board that ballots will be mailed to registered voters on January 27, those who are not registered to vote can do so by visiting VoteWA, and the voting deadline is February 14.
State of the Schools Review
Mira Gobel, Assistant Superintendent of Schools & Social Emotional Learning, provided the content and logistics of the District’s upcoming State of the School Review presentations.
Mrs. Gobel shared what the schools will be sharing during the presentations, what attendees will learn, and how Board members and district leaders can sign up to attend.
School Year 2021-2022 Budget Closeout Report
Kevin Hebdon, Executive Director of Fiscal Services, provided board members with the 2021-2022 School Year final financial closeout information. The report included a summary of the General Fund, Final 21-22 Reserves and Assignments, and Final 21-22 Ending Fund Balances.
Application Open for Board of Director Position No. 5
Applications are now available to Pasco residents interested in serving the unexpired term for Board of Director Position No. 5 through November 2023.
As required by RCW 28A.343.340, applicants must reside in the Pasco School District, be a United States citizen, and a registered voter.
This is a voluntary and unpaid position.
Board of Director Position No. 5 is an at-large position. This means qualified applicants can reside anywhere within Pasco School District to serve in this position.
Applications are due by 5 pm on February 3.
