Marching Band Happenings

This Friday is Junior High Night. Students from a few local Junior Highs will be joining us for some teambuilding fun, dinner, and then they get to join us to play in the stands and on the field. So be ready to show them what an awesome Marching Program Highland has!

Directions to Williams Field High School

Williams Field High School is located in Gilbert, Arizona. It is located on Higley Road between

Williams Field and Ray Roads.

1. Take US 60 or the 202 (San Tan Freeway)

2. Get off at Higley Road and turn South

3. Proceed South on Higley

4. Williams Field High School is located on Higley Road, South of Ray Road on the West side of

Higley Road

Spectator Parking

Spectator parking is located on the North side of the High School, just east of the stadium.

Admission Prices

Ticket price is $10

Children 5 and under: Free

Concessions

The concession stand is located on the south side of the stadium. It will be stocked with plenty of food. No outside food or drink other than bottled water will be allowed in the stadium.

Students are expected to stay through all events and ride the bus home. We realize that sometimes there are circumstances that warrant you wanting to pick up your child at the event. If you need to take your child home from an event and not from the school you need to communicate with the Band Directors (Mr. Bennett/Mrs. Bock) at least 24 hours prior to the event. Communication should be done in writing, email is great.

When we have 115 students to be responsible for and logistics like instruments and uniforms it can be complicated to keep track of everything. When parents just show up at the event to take students home it can add an extra level of complication. After you have communicated, please see a Band Director at the event to take your child home so we know where they are. This is truly for the safety and security of all students. Thank you for your understanding.

10/21 Home Football Game Vs Saguaro HS Field Volunteers

We could use parent volunteer help for props, and equipment for Friday nights football game. Take a look to see what you can do, and remember, volunteers get into the game free!

10/21 Marching Band Junior High Night Dinner Help/Donations

After school on Friday we will be feeding the Marching Band and local Junior High band students before they head to the stadium to perform at the football game. Take a look at the signup and see if there is anything that you can help out with.

10/21 Home Football Game VS Saguaro HS Concessions Volunteers

Highland Band runs the Visitor side concession stand and all profits come back to the band program to keep student fees manageable. Even with a very small customer showing from Desert Vista, we made the program $750 last Friday night! We are expecting a small crowd with Saguaro as well, but will have zero expenses for this game so everything sold will be all profit Friday evening. Let's bring in $1,000 Friday night! 10/22 ABODA Williams Field Competition Chaperone and Field/Equipment Volunteers

We need several parents to chaperone the bus trip or to meet us at Williams Field HS to help with the marching band equipment. Volunteers get into the show for free and get to see our amazing performance from the sidelines!

11/12 AzMBA 4A Championships - Volunteer Leads

We're looking for volunteers to help organize and lead various areas of the AzMBA Championships that will be hosted by Highland this November. Paul Friedman is the event lead for everything outside the stadium and Amber Ethridge is the event lead for everything inside the stadium. The leads in this sign up are to work with the two of them running the event. Each of the leads will have a selection of volunteers working with them in their area. The AzMBA 4A Championship event is on November 12 and will take up most of the day.

Please make sure as you do work with the band as a volunteer that you fill out the google form to track your hours, we want you to get credit for all of your hard work! Each family is required to have a minimum of ten volunteer hours this year, it will be super easy to reach that goal as long as you add your hours to the form. A link to the form is below for your convenience. There is also a link to this form pinned at the top of the "parents" section of the Band app for another easy to find location.
