Sunset Feeder Excellence
October 12th-16th, 2015
School Visits
As I visit, we will collaborate regarding evidence of your efforts to provide spot feedback to assistant principals, polishes in classrooms, student achievement in every content area, etc. You should be knowledgeable of your AP and CIC supports to teachers and we will review your polishes to look for evidence in classrooms. Upcoming professional development should have processes for teacher input via surveys aligned to your campus action plan needs and/or teacher Professional Development Plans. Additionally, they should provide feedback on the sessions. Please develop collective commitments to evidence you will look for immediately following professional development.
Please be sure to send me your PD agenda by Friday. Additionally, email me with at least 1 or 2 refinements you are making to improve your parent conferences. Please ensure teachers are supported by an administrator and parents have the opportunity to provide two-way communication (i.e. communication station, feedback sheet, mutually scheduled meetings, standard student profile sharing/portfolios, etc.).

Week Eight
Reading/Writing October 21st Data/Principal Meeting- The district will provide a template, but as we do in every visit, you should be prepared to speak to your data in advance. I know you already do this, but you should be aware of the progress of every content area beyond the standard reports to lead progress monitoring in the core content areas (i.e. common assessments, DOL data tracking, small group instruction, tutorials, etc.). Feel free to call me. I would ensure that you have adequate data in district expectations too (ISIP, Reasoning Minds, etc.). You don’t want to be surprised by blank data, incomplete data, etc.
Please send me your completed data template by Friday afternoon for review.
Assistant Principal Rubric-
Per your request, we are having a repeat meeting with Assistant Principals this Wednesday at 3:30- Winnetka Elementary School to highlight and provide sense-making with the implementation of the assistant principal rubric. If any of your AP's did not attend the first session, please make arrangements to have them attend this week. I will need the principal to assist with sense-making during this overview.
Please be prepared to have all academic leaders (APs/CICs) be able to discuss alignment of instruction with assessment. Additionally, all polishes received should be evident in the classroom. As we visit, I will ask for the last polish (or will have a copy from my last visit) and we will conduct spots to look for evidence of implementation. All new teachers should be receiving support with a sense of urgency.
Assistant Principal Rubric- Please reference the AP rubric during each of your calibrations and meetings with AP's.

TEI Calibration for New Supervisors (Principals and AP's that were not a supervisor last year)
Please review the district's TEI DNA regulation and local policy. You should remind your assistant principals of the mandated requirements and timelines (each AP should have a plan to present to you to ensure their teachers are supported in meeting deadlines and provided professional development.

Please note that you must provide and document training and supports for new teachers through out the school year within 15 days (see policy/regulation above)
Special Programs
You should contact MLEP if I notified you of a denial percentage higher than 5% to ensure a proactive support plan. Please ask your special education teacher for the reports of ARD's, please ensure you are aware and ensure compliance with annual ARD's, IEP's, accommodations, etc. You should ensure that all minutes and services are being met... Additionally, FLS programs should be reviewed to ensure the least restrictive environment, please feel free to contact special education compliance for support/guidance.
*Reminder, a 5-Day ARD notice to sending and receiving administrators is required. If you do not receive a notice from another district campus, please make me aware of the situation immediately.
LPAC 20 day deadline through-out the school year- please ensure sense-making with all staff.
SPOTS
All supervisors should be able to access curriculum while in the classroom. Supervisors should be able to discuss how each standard is assessed at the particular grade level (state and ACP). I want to discuss how you are supervising AP and CIC feedback to teachers (also review Schoolnet entries using the Principal/AP rubric).
