Orville and Wilbur Wright, brothers and bicycle mechanics, who successfully created a device that would allow man to sore like a bird and flew 120 feet in Kitty Hawk on December 17, 1903.
The Wright's Flyer
Made of wood-and-canvas with a 12-horsepower engine, two propellers that were each 8 1/2 feet in diameter, wingspan of 40 feet, 4 inches, and weighing 605 lb, the Wright brothers crafted this airplane and would change transportation forever.

When and Where
The Wright brothers brought their flying machine to Kitty Hawk beach in North Carolina because the wind provided the draft they needed to take off, and on the morning of December 17, 1903 they did.
