Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
I begin this week's message with a reminder to continue to mask indoors. As you know, restrictions are being lifted and life has opened up. Like many people I was enjoying the relaxation of the low case count. Unfortunately, I have spent the last 10 days home with COVID. I encourage you to spend time doing those activities that you have missed with friends and family. However, as cases have slightly risen, I recommend that you continue wearing masks while indoors on campus.
Next, I want to call out how proud I am of our district. We are just three short weeks away from the District's Centennial Celebration and Staff Housing Ribbon Cutting on Friday May 13, and the excitement is building! Along with honoring 100 years of educational excellence within our wonderful district, we will officially open the doors to 705 Serramonte, our workforce housing building!
I feel incredibly honored to be a part of a district that has created a solution to providing an affordable living solution in the Bay Area for our staff. A special shout out goes to Deputy Superintendent Tina Van Raaphorst, Director of Construction and Special Projects Stefanie Phillips, and Director of Communication and Staff Housing Austin Worden for their tireless work on this project and to our Board of Trustees for their vision. WOOT!!
Please get out and enjoy the sun this weekend.
Warmly,
Toni Presta
Superintendent
