Picking for David Wiseman

benefit concert - Friday, September 21, 2012

COME HELP US PICK UP DAVID WISEMAN!

Picking FOR David Wiseman is a fundraiser to help a long-time musician as he battles Wegener's Granulomatosis. Won't you help?

David Wiseman is a long-time bluegrass musician from the mountains of western North Carolina. He's a superb tenor and lead singer and a wonderful mandolinist and fiddler. Gowing up in Ingalls, NC, just outside Spruce Pine, he is directly related to the late Lulu Belle & Scotty Wiseman.

David has played music in many different bands in the western region of North Carolina for about 40 years. Many of these efforts have been to help OTHERS in many different benefit situations. Now, it's time for us to help David!

David has been diagnosed as having a fairly rare disease called Wegener's Granulomatosis, which is potentially fatal. IT CAN BE TREATED and David is getting ready to start a form of chemotherapy to help him. More info can be read here:

The Harris Brothers are what you might call songsters. They can draw from a vast repertoire of American traditional music - "Americana" is often used to describe their style, but the Harris Brothers just call it music. Their sound is heavily influenced by traditional blues and Appalachian mountain music, jazz, country, and rock n' roll.

Strictly Clean & Decent is an acoustic trio which features Patrick Crouch, Ron Shuffler, and Kay Crouch whose blend of brilliant vocal harmonies tops a solid instrumental foundation. They are dedicated to performing a variety of musical styles in an acoustic setting.

The Moore Brothers have been on the road performing across the southeast since 2008. They released their first CD in Feb 2010 with guests Kristin Benson (Banjo), Wayne Benson (Bass) and Alan Johnson (Fiddle). CD was recorded by Wayne Benson of IIIrd Tyme Out and mastered by Greg Luck. They are currently working on the second project on Music Row, release expected in March 2012.
