Note from the Principal:
Dear Staff,
It's getting closer! While the reality of school is setting in, it is hard to deny the feeling of newness and excitement that are creeping in. We have a blank canvas in front of us upon which we can create anything we want!
It is great to see staff members coming around and preparing for September and I am excited to talk to all of you. Keep up the great work.
Each of us will bring different passions and ideas this year and when we put them all together it is going to be incredible. Think about how you've evolved since last year and remember that our school is going to benefit from all of our individual contributions, regardless of our role or assignment.
It's amazing how the hard work of so many different people makes a difference and comes together to make something special.
Let's get ready to Make Our Mark!
Sincerely,
Chris

- Volunteer Planting Day - Thursday 8/30 corresponding with the open house, we'll be having a volunteer day to install the "Milkweed Meadow" portion of the outdoor learning space in between the trailers. Bring some old clothes if you want to help!
- Bear Tavern T-Shirts - Student shirts are in and being separated! They will receive them Thursday and wear them Friday. PTO has been working on staff shirts. They should be available for purchase (online) next week or shortly there after. They came out great! We can dress nice for the first day, then wear any BT gear you have for Friday or simply Blue and White. Staff shirts won't be delivered for a few weeks.
- Laminating - Place any laminating in the bin by the laminator before 8/30 to be ready for day 1.

- POSTER BOARD FOR DAY 1- We have black poster board for homeroom teachers in grades 1-5 to make large signs with their names on them for students to find their places on the blacktop. The poster board is located in the main office. Have fun!
- Blacktop Day 1 - We will be adjusting 2 things this year. We will be having Kindergarten families go directly to the Kindergarten cluster to drop off K students (I'll be reaching out to a few non-classroom staff to support this). We will also be sharing information w families about our first ever 'Clap IN.' Elaborating on our traditional 'clap out' in June, once opening remarks are done, we'll invite parents to the fence by the trailers to celebrate as the students walk in one of the two entrances on the 'outdoor hallway.' To answer the question that may have arisen, 'yes, I did in many ways steal the idea from a Walmart commercial (see below).
