Colleyville MS Football ends season with 5 game sweep of GMS!

After a rough two weeks for the program the boys were able to end the season on an extremely high note by beating our split school rival, GMS.

The 8th grade was able to start a new tradition by playing their games at MPS and only allowed 6 points on the night.

On Tuesday the 7th grade boys went to GMS and capped off the sweep of the Ponies. The Boys got great wins heading into the offseason. The A team had to overcome another bit of adversity to pull out a 4 quarter win.

The coaches are extremely proud job they did this year.

The program totalled the most wins in the 3 years I've been on campus and to any else's knowledge 7 years. We finished 21-18. Great job, and a great starting point to Change the Culture at CMS to one that is used to winning, and expects to win each week. Great Job Guys!!

Player of the game:

7TH C TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - RHETT REGULA

RHETT STEPPED UP WHEN HIS TEAM NEEDED A QB TUESDAY NIGHT. HE DELIVERED AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AND PROBABLY CREATED A QB CONTROVERSY HEADING INTO NEXT YEAR!

7TH C TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - GRANT GHORMLEY

GRANT WAS ALL OVER THE FIELD MAKING PLAYS TUESDAY NIGHT. HE WAS LIGHTING KIDS UP AND HAD A NOSE FOR THE BALL!

7TH B TEAM SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - NONE

7TH B TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - TYLER GULIZIA

TYLER GULIZIA...HAVE YOURSELF A GAME SIR! TYLER DID SOMETHING IN ONE GAME THAT NOT MANY KIDS WILL DO IN A WHOLE SEASON, OR CAREER. HE HAD AN INTERCEPTION, AND A FUMBLE RECOVERY. PUT A LITTLE ICING ON THAT CAKE...HE IS A DEFENSIVE LINEMAN! ATTA BOY!

7TH B TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - CARSON WITTEN

WITH ALL OF THE SCORING, AND TRUST ME, THERE WAS PLENTY, IT WAS HARD TO FIND AN OFFENSIVE POTG. BUT WE NOTICED A LITTLE SOMETHING WITH CARSON WHEN WE ASKED RECEIVERS TO GO IN AT RUNNING BACK. HE MADE SOME GUYS MISS, AND THEN SHOWED SOME SPEED TO GO SCORE. NICE JOB!

7TH A TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - A.J. SMITH

AJ WAS UNDER DURESS MUCH OF THE NIGHT WITH THE BIG GUYS UP FRONT FROM GMS. HOWEVER, HE ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE AND DELIVERED ON KEY PASSES TO SOME OF HIS FAVORITE TARGETS TO ULTIMATELY GIVE US A HARD EARNED WIN! THANK YOU SIR!

7TH A TEAM SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - OLIVER CROW

EACH TIME WE KICK OFF, WE CALL THE NUMBERS OF DIFFERENT GUYS TO BE OUR BULLETS DOWN THE FIELD. ONE TIME IN PARTICULAR, "OLI" GOT HIS NUMBER CALLED, AND IT WAS REALLY UNFORTUNATE FOR THE GUY ON THE RECEIVING END WHEN HE GOT THE BALL. OLI DELIVERED A DEVASTATING BLOW THAT GOT A FEW OHHS, AND AHHS FROM HIS COACHES.

7TH A TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - SEAN FANNING

SEAN HAD SEEN GMS TRY AND RUN THE SAME PLAY AGAINST US ALL NIGHT. HE KNEW THAT IF WE DIDN'T STOP IT, WE WEREN'T GOING TO WIN. SO ON PLAY, HE READ IT PERFECTLY AND STEPPED IN FRONT OF A GMS PASS TO INTERCEPT AND STOP GMS FROM RUNNING THAT PLAY THE REST OF THE GAME!

8TH B TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - MASON ROSE

MASON WAS BRINGING HARD HITS IN HIS LAST GAME AS A CMS COLT. HE PUT HIMSELF IN PERFECT POSITION TO GET A TIPPED PASS THAT WAS LATER INTERCEPTED, GIVING THE BALL BACK TO THE OFFENSE.

8TH B TEAM SPECIAL TEAMS OF THE GAME - JACKSON TRUSSELL

JACKSON WAS A STEP OR TWO AWAY FROM TAKING A BALL TO THE HOUSE ON SPECIAL TEAMS MONDAY NIGHT. WE ALL THOUGHT HE MIGHT GET THE EDGE AND TAKE IT ALL THE WAY!

8TH B OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - NICK KEILSON

NICK GETS THIS AWARD FOR NOT ONLY THIS WEEK AND THE AWESOME THROWS HE MADE TO SPREAD THE BALL AROUND ON THE FIELD, BUT ALSO FOR HIS GRIT ALL YEAR FOR PLAYING WHILE HURT...AND MAYBE PLAYING INJURED. IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT A GUY WHO CAN GO OUT AND PLAY WITH THE ACHES AND PAINS THAT NICK ENDURED ALL YEAR SO THAT HIS TEAM COULD HAVE THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN. THANK YOU NICK!

8TH A TEAM SPECIAL TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME - CAM BIGLER

CAM WAS KICKING WELL ALL NIGHT, BUT ON ONE OF OUR SCORES, HE KICKED THE BALL, THAT WAS BLOCKED RIGHT BACK TO HIM, AND WITHOUT HESITATION, HE KNEW HE HAD TO SCORE, AND TOOK IT HIMSELF FOR THE CONVERSION.

8TH A TEAM DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - KADEN JOHNSON

KADEN HAD TWO INTERCEPTIONS THAT STOPPED ANY MOMENTUM GMS WAS TRYING TO GAIN. ONE WAS AN UNBELIEVABLE SIDELINE PICK THAT REALLY EXEMPLIFIES THE TYPE OF SEASON KADEN HAS HAD.

8TH A TEAM OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - LUKE MABE

LUKE PERSEVERED THROUGH SOME ADVERSITY THAT GMS GAVE US BY GIVING US A DIFFERENT LOOK THAN WE HAD SEEN ALL YEAR. THEY MADE READS HARDER, AND HE STILL WAS ABLE TO GET THE JOB DONE.
