Read Across America Week!

NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss!

HSI will be celebrating Read Across America next week, leading up to Dr. Seuss' birthday on Saturday. Students will be able to dress up with a daily theme based on one of Dr. Seuss' books. Participation is optional, and all Free Dress Day rules apply!

*all students must be in compliance with school dress code

Black History Month

Here are more books you and your children can read together in honor of Black History month to celebrate the many important heroes from history!

Racing for Perfect Attendance!

School attendance truly matters! One of the reasons that attendance is very important is that students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It is very important for children to arrive on time to insure that they do not miss out on the important learning activities that happen early in the day. If your student is going to be absent please contact the attendance office to report their absence. It is also imperative that you provide us with your latest and best contact information. All absences require either a signed note from their parent and/or doctor's visits require a signed doctor's note, these are due within 3 days of absence. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact Ms. Trujillo in the Attendance Office. Thank you!

Home Visits

Why do we conduct home visits?

The purpose of this program is to build relationships between the school and the home informing parents of student specific classroom information, as well as various HPS programs and school events that are available. Take the opportunity to get to know your teachers outside of school! If you would like to put in a request for a home visit, please contact your students' teachers or our campus Engagement and Support Coordinator for more information!
