Safe Oregon (Reports on Bullying and Harassment)
Last Tuesday, February 27, Estacada School District hosted a Town Hall meeting regarding the practices and policies about Bullying. Thank you for attending this meeting and for voicing your concerns. I am in the process of working alongside other District administrators to take steps in strengthening how mean, harassing, menacing, and/or bullying incidents are addressed. This link, here, will bring you to an online reporting tool if you and your student want to make an anonymous report. The student ability to report, anonymously, was discussed as needing attention to help limit bullying and build kindness in our schools.
Lockdown Drill
Last Monday, February 26, EMS students and staff practiced a Lockdown Drill. Although these drills increase anxiety of our stakeholders and students alike while simultaneously taking away from learning time, they are necessary and must be done to ensure the safety of our students and to fine-tune the practices of our administration. The opportunity to practice our most recent lockdown was a success. All teachers followed the required protocols and students followed adult instruction. Thank you for your support and for communicating with your students. I will let you know of our next safety procedure.
