Volunteers NEEDED!
We are needing some volunteers this Saturday, March 7th at 10 am.
We will need help removing fencing in the sheep and goat barn as they plan to pour concrete bottoms in each pen next week.
We are also one step closer to a new rabbit and poultry barn built. We need your help getting the old barn ready to be removed. We will need all hands on deck to remove cages, tables and remove paneling from the outside of the poultry and rabbit barn in preparation for the new barn to be built.
Between these two jobs we should be done in less than one hour.

Friends of Saunders County 4-H & Extension Foundation seeking ideas
the Friends of Saunders County 4-H and Extension Foundation would like to ask the clubs of Saunders County to help find a theme for this year’s auction. Please go to our Facebook page to put your suggestion into our poll. Last year’s theme was “Keep Saunders County Rolling”. 4H Shotgun Shooting Sports
Are you interested in learning and competing in the sport of Trapshooting?
Female and male youth, grades 6 – 12, interested in participating in club trapshooting are encouraged to contact Ashland Gun Club 4H.
Fall practice is beginning. Season runs January to May. No experience necessary. Hunter Safety Education Required.

Shooting Sports Ambassador
Know someone who has found their ‘spark’ in the 4-H Shooting Sports project? Consider encouraging them to apply to be a 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador. Applications are open through March 9. Here is the link for the teen to apply. https://forms.gle/sh8ieKcsJT9yDSUR9
The 4-H Shooting Sports Ambassador Application is open and is for 14-18 year olds who have been enrolled in the project area at least one year. The teen will need a recommendation from a 4-H staff person in their county (this can be any educator, assistant, coordinator, or 4-H support staff).

4-H Cat Club - REVAMPED
Do you like cats? What about learning how to care for or show them? Maybe you have heard about the 4-H Cat Club in the past and wanted to join, but couldn't make the monthly meetings.
Do we have good news for you, or what? We are pleased to introduce this year's self-paced Cat Club! No more being bummed that you missed the hour long meeting every second Thursday. You will now have access to monthly lessons and activities that you can complete on your own time.

Free Field Trip to Omaha International Horse Show
The Omaha Equestrian Foundation is excited to offer free field trips to the 2020 International Omaha Horse Show and thanks to generous donors, Omaha Equestrian will cover up to $140 of your transportation expenses to the event!
Introduce your classroom or group to the vast world of horses at the 2020 Burlington Capital International Omaha on April 9, 10, or 11. At the International Omaha your students will get the unique opportunity of witnessing these magnificent animals and expert riders in action as well as participate in an extensive offering of unique educational exhibits.
Your students will:
- Visit the “Horse Discovery Zone”, a specially designed interactive exhibit for elementary and middle-school aged children that will teach about horse health, biology, history and care.
- See live demonstrations from horse trainers and educators
- Visit the “Gallery of Breeds” and get up close and personal with eight different breeds of horses
- Watch competitions in two Olympic sports: Jumping and Dressage
- Learn about careers in the horse industry
- So much more!

2020 Online Horticulture Judging Contest
Beekeeping Essay Competition
Please have interested students submit state entries to the UNL Bee Lab (unlbeelab@unl.edu) with the subject header “4H Essay Contest” by March 1, 2020. This year’s topic is a bit challenging, especially if they are new to beekeeping, so if there are students who would like to interview or get in contact with a local beekeeper, they can reach out to the Nebraska Beekeepers Association (https://nebraskabeekeepers.org).
