Southridge Middle School

March/April 2016

Combined March/April Edition

This edition of the Southridge Middle School Newsletter is a combined March and April edition. Due to being out for two weeks due to surgery, Spring Break, and now ISTEP testing, it was easier to combine both months into one longer newsletter than to have two very short individual ones. So, enjoy what has been going on in our school as you read this newsletter.

Mission Statement

Southridge Middle School sets high expectations while striving for excellence academically, physically, and socially through the combined efforts of students, staff, and family to prepare students to reach their potential in a diverse, ever-changing society.

Library Update

First of all, THANK YOU for helping to make the combined High School/Middle School Book Fair such a huge success. We were amazed at the number of books and the amount of other merchandise that was purchased.

As we near the end of the 2015-2016 school year, which will be here before we know it, there are many books and magazines that need to be returned to the library. May 6th has been set as the date when all library materials are due. If you have checked out materials that are not returned, you will be billed for these items. Please look in your backpacks, lockers, classrooms, under your beds, under any piles of clothing in your rooms at home, even in the car. Replacing lost and/or damaged books can be expensive and can take away from the budget we have for new books.

Summer Tennis Program

This summer, we are continuing our summer tennis program in hopes of building a feeder program. Forms will be handed out in HQ on Monday. We are hoping to get more numbers for the future.

Students do not need ANY experience to come to camp. It is just to introduce the sport and have some fun this summer. The camp will run for 3 days only. Extra forms will be in the office.
