Poultney High School is looking for substitutes
Poultney High School and GRCSU are hiring!
We're recruiting individuals interested in joining our pool of Substitute Teachers and Paraeducators. We also have openings for qualified School Nurse substitutes - must be an RN with current VT licensing.
Interested individuals can apply on School Spring or Indeed. Questions can be directed to Ellen Coyle, Substitute Coordinator, ellen.coyle@grcsu.org, (802) 775-4342, ext. 2126.
Packets
If you haven't done so, please have your student(s) return their beginning of the year packets. Students can drop them off outside the main office.
Schedules
If there is a question with your student’s schedule, or if they would like to change
classes, all changes must be made by Thursday, September 8. Please contact Mrs. Gallipo if
you have any questions or want changes.
PSAT
All Juniors will be taking the PSAT for free on Wednesday October 12 from 7:45 to about 12. If your 10th grader would like to take the test please sign up with Mrs. Gallipo by Tuesday September 13, the cost is $18.
Free Breakfast and Lunch for ALL Students
The State of Vermont is once again providing school breakfast and
lunch free for ALL students. However, we ask that you still fill out the form provided in the
packet regarding this.
Guidance News
- The University of Vermont is excited to offer Regional Information Sessions throughout the state this fall. These events are for high school juniors, seniors and their families to learn more about UVM. Details and registration information will be emailed to students in early September. Registration is now open.
Pursue a career in skilled trades — tuition-free A new interest-free, forgivable loan pays up to 100% of tuition for training and certification in select high-demand job sectors in Vermont. The new program, open to Vermont and non-Vermont residents, will help meet the acute need for more trained workers in Vermont in select building, mechanical, industrial, or medical trades; emergency services; energy including clean energy, energy efficiency, or weatherization; transportation; broadband; robotics and other high-demand sectors. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until all funds have been awarded. Programs beginning after Sept. 1 are eligible. Introducing VSAC Workforce Development Funding
VSAC, in partnership with other Vermont agencies, will offer grants and interest-free forgivable loans that will help eligible students afford the degree or training they need to pursue the career they want. This new funding will reduce or eliminate tuition for eligible students pursuing careers in critical fields such as skilled trades, early childhood education, nursing, mental health care and more:
- 802 Opportunity - offers free tuition at Community College of Vermont (CCV) to eligible Vermont residents with a family income of $75,000 or less.
- Program for Early Childhood Educators - offers full tuition to qualified recipients pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education or early childhood special education at participating schools.
- Program for Nursing Education - offers up to full tuition to qualified recipients pursuing a nursing career in Vermont.
