Field Day/ PBIS Assembly June 7
Field Day is quickly approaching and we can't do pull it off without your help! We will need volunteers from approximately 8 am until 11 am. Due to the number of students we have and needs from our volunteers, we can't accommodate younger siblings. We will send a sign-up in next week's newsletter.
1st -5th grade will have Field Day in the morning at MES, then our PBIS Assembly int he afternoon. We will also be providing popsicles during Field Day. Nutritional Information is below. If you do not wish to have your child have a popsicle, please let the homeroom teacher know. In addition, hot lunches will come in a sack lunch so students can enjoy a picnic lunch outside.
Celebrating the Earth the Month of May
Earth Month is coming courtesy of the Ecology and Garden Club
Millburn Elementary members will be celebrating the Earth during the month of
May. Each day will bring awareness of our surroundings and how we interact with
it. Ecology Club Members will help to bring you resources. We can have fun and
focus on a theme during this warmer time of year. Perhaps we may learn a thing or
two. Each Friday we will let you know the following week's activities.
May 20- Habitat Watch Day
Students watch for wildlife around the building and connect where they go for food and
shelter. Students can record these animals and spot what they use for homes.
The garden has birdhouses, solitary bee houses, toad houses to view.
May 21-Animal track Day
Students use some basic guide sheets provided to spot animal tracks left behind as
evidence of animal trails.
May 22- Variety of Life Day
Students count the many different types of plants (based on leaves) they can see or feel in
our neighborhood at school.
May 23- Be a Flower Photo Op
Students can pop their head into a human sized flower center to snap a photo. Choose from
three different types (Venus Fly Trap, Sunflower, or Zinnia).
May 24-Read in the Garden
