Who is Ms. Gridine?

Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited about our new year of learning adventures. I hope you are, too! My name is Ms. Gridine, and I will be your kindergarten teacher this year. I want to share a few things about me, but you can't tell anyone else, okay? Shhhh!

You must know that I truly enjoy teaching! It is one of my purposes in this life, and it makes me so happy. This will be my 7th year teaching in Richland One, but my first time with our Hopkins Elementary School Family. (Did I mention that I was excited?) Would you like to know my favorite part of teaching? When my students realize they "got it" and that they can do it! It makes my heart smile!

A few more facts...

I have a wonderful family that I love very much! I am the "baby" of my family - daddy, mommy, two older sisters and a wonderful brother-in-law. For fun, I enjoy spending time with my Father, my family, friends, and church family. I also enjoy reading, writing in my journal, shopping, doing Zumba, and creating things on my computer. My favorite food..... french fries. Yep! French fries.

I am so ready to meet you and to begin this wonderful year of growing beyond expectations. I will see you soon! Until then, remember you can do virtually anything!

Meet the Teacher

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. My name is Ms. Parsley (yes, just like the herb!), and I am thrilled to be your child's kindergarten teacher this year. This will be my thirteenth year teaching kindergarten at Hopkins Elementary. I absolutely love teaching kindergarten and am super excited about all of the fun and learning that will occur this year.

I received my bachelor's degree from Augusta State University and my master's degree from the University of South Carolina. I enjoy teaching all subjects, but especially enjoy teaching reading. I look forward to helping your child grow as a reader as we embark on many new reading adventures this year.

I was born in Munich, Germany, but grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, just outside of Fort Bragg (home of the 82nd Airborne). My connections to the Army have allowed me to live in many wonderful places, but I am happy to have settled down here in beautiful South Carolina. I have one child, a daughter, who is beginning her sophomore year at the University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks!

We have two very spoiled dogs--a rescue pit bull named Lola Sparkles, and a Bichon Frise named Carley. Some of my favorite things are: the color blue, hiking, swimming, sewing, and eating Mexican food.

We are going to learn so many wonderful things this year, and I consider it to be an honor to be your child's teacher.
