Sylah's Writing- Year 5 - Totara
I used to be home.
It was a warm sunny morning when I heard ear deafening screeching. I woke up straight away and hopped lightly out of my nest expecting to see people passing by but no. Instead I saw huge terrifying things that looked like they could snap me in half. so amazed and scared I flew up higher so they couldn’t see me. In a soft voice I mumbled to my friend “these are intruders!” “ They're not going to kick us out of our home are they?” said Tweety in a shy and quiet voice “ surely not I mean we already made our nests here!” but it made me wonder what they were doing?.
Changes
One by one we were pushed higher and higher into the Pumphouse. I couldn't go out for too long to get food because if I left Tweety could get hurt. I noticed that there was less fresh grass from the humans machines and the smell of oil and petrol became more common and more and more people came. One day I remember one of the people spotting Tweety. He tried to grab Tweety but instead he slammed Tweety into the wall and I never saw Tweety again.
One day a nice woman with a yellow hat and pale skin came by, there was no food or water because of the machines so when she spotted me she threw a piece of bread that landed in my nest.
One cold morning a little girl wearing a pretty pink dress came to have a look at the pump house but all of a sudden she tripped on the stones and was about to fall onto a machine but I went behind her head to block her head from getting hit and she was a bit dirty from the fall but she got up and picked me up, took a good long look at me because my wing was hurt from the machines until a man started yelling at her. Then he swiped me out of her hands and threw me out. That was when I lost my home.
The end.
