Dear Midland Families,
I want to begin with a shout out to Mr. Nunez, our Assistant Principal. Earlier in April, during Spring Break, it was Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! Mr. Nunez has been a great addition to Midland this year. He develops relationships with students, supports our staff, and communicates often with families. We are so glad Mr. Nunez is a Midland Mustang!
This past week was Earth Day. Our Mustangs were seen all around our campus, picking up garbage, cleaning the gardens, planting new flowers and plants, and learning about how to care for the Earth. I'm really proud of our students and staff for taking time to teach about the stewardship of our world and its resources.
Next Month, May 24-27 is conference week. Our teachers will begin reaching out to you to schedule conferences for those afternoons. Our late conference night will be Tuesday, May 25th. Please be sure to schedule a conference with your child's teacher.
One final note. We are seeing an increase in tardies. Please remember that school begins at 8:55 and we would like to have all of our students in class on time.
Thanks for the many ways you support your students.
It's great to be a MUSTANG!
~Dr. Paula Dawson

Midland PTA Needs YOU!
The PTA is a group of parents and family members who meet for an hour once a month. They create ideas for activities and provide support to our classrooms. PTA can be a very FUN opportunity! While the past few years we have focused on fundraisers, it woud be great to have more familiy activities and celebrations. We want to focus on more family involvement and non-traditional events which celebrate cultures and supports for families.
If you are interested, please email Mrs. Dawson (pdawson@fpschools.org) or call the school office. Training is provided and there is lots of support for our PTA.
Thank you in advance for considering how you can participate and keep our PTA!
Important Attendance Moment:
Spring Allergies
Prevention is key when addressing seasonal allergies. To alleviate and prevent very bothersome symptoms, please administer your child's medicine prior to their school day or whenever you scheduled time frame is. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your HCP for specific care.
Reminder about treats sent to school
Registration for the 2021-22 School Year:
Registration for new students enrolling in the 2021-22 school year is now open. We will be registering only new kindergarten through 5th grade students who live within our attendance boundaries, or have daycare in our area. Current students are automatically enrolled for next year, with the exception of overload students who will return to their home schools for 2021-22. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2021. All registrations will be done on-line at www.fpschools.org . Click on the red "Enrollment" circle, then click "Enroll for 2021-22", and complete the registration paperwork. Enrollees must attach a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residence during the registration process.
Over the nose it goes! Over the chin, you win!
