PTO Meetings
The next PTO meeting will be held on October 16 at 2:30 pm. All parents of Hilton students are members of the PTO. Please join us to offer your support, ideas, and most important, to make this an amazing year for our students.
Hound Dog Run Results
Thank you for all the donations this year. The students raised $14,628! That is an amazing amount. Our hard working students met all the the school's goals. Which means they will get tattoos at recess, goblies thrown at a mural, obstacle course at recess, a free Popcorn Friday and the amazing DJ Mr. Eisele Dance Party, also at a recess. The classroom that raised the most money and earn the Hound Dog Trophy was Mrs. Wyman’s class. Congratulation to everybody!
Toe Token Challenge Results
A BIG thank you to all the volunteers this week. It was once again a great event for everybody. It was so inspiring to see how hard our kids worked for something so little. The results for the Toe Token Challenge will be posted next week. This year's 1st place class will win a XL Popsicle Party plus free skating admission to Rollerama (a $250+ value). So please stay tuned.

Background Check
If you are planning to volunteer at school at all this year, BAS requires a background check. Here is the link to get that done:

*My School Anywhere- New Online Directory, Store, and Sign Ups*
To join the directory, please visit https://www.myschoolanywhere.com/join.a5w to input your child’s information and privacy settings. Hilton’s invitation code is “hiltonexplores”. This site will also be used to send PTO updates, sign up for events and after school clubs, accept donations and hold emergency contact information. You can also download the MySchoolAnywhere app to your smartphone to receive updated information on the go. If you don’t want personal info on the directory you can opt to not share. Your information will then only be used for emergency purposes.
Box Tops (October 26)
Please continue to collect box tops. The next deadline submission will be October 26. You can send them to school in a plastic bag with your child’s name and teachers name on it. In the past, money raised through this program financed the field trip transportation as well as granted up to $100 to each classroom for much needed supplies.
Kroger Shoppers
Hilton is now enrolled in the Kroger Rewards Program. Please support the school by linking us to your Kroger Rewards Card. Our number is 68151 or you can just type our school name in the search window at https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards
Amazon Smile
How fun would it be to shop, while at the same time, earning money for our school? Amazon Smile (https://smile.amazon.com) is through Amazon.com, in which they donate money for most items purchased through their website. The fun part is that the website keeps a running total on your account to see how much money you donate to the school just by shopping with them. Check out this 30 second video to see how you can add a shortcut to your (mobile) home screen to ensure all your Amazon purchases benefit Hilton Elementary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWgglu7ZCDE.
Coca Cola Give
Attention all Coca Cola drinkers! Another way to earn money for Hilton Elementary is through the Coca Cola Give Program. By collecting Coca Cola caps and codes, Hilton can earn money to purchase supplies for physical education, sports, technology and/or arts. Most Coca-Cola beverages that have a product code under its cap, or printed on its paper packaging, are eligible to be used for donation. Here is a link to the reference list of participating brands https://us.coca-cola.com/participating-brands. Please collect these clean items in a plastic bag and send to school with your child. There is a drawer in the office for collections.BOX TOPS!
The digital world that our students are learning and growing up in is incredibly exciting. Through technology, students have access to new tools and to an incredible range of resources. As a district, we want to make sure our students cultivate the 21st century skills they need and learn safe ways to navigate through our digital world. During STEAM this week our first through fourth grade students learned about Digital Citizenship and their Digital Footprint. We discussed rules that help keep us safe online while at school and at home.
I am a good Digital Citizen
· I will make safe and appropriate choices while on my device.
· I will keep my private information private. (last name, phone number, address etc.)
· I will be respectful to myself and others while on my device.
· I will never share my password. (except with parents or teacher)
· I will report any and all bullying I see while on my device. (3-4 grade)
As a way to ensure that our students are safe at BAS we encourage all students to use Safe Search Sites and the Hilton grade level links. You are more than welcome to use these at home too! These can be found on the Hilton website under “For Students”. Ask your kiddos they can show you where they are.
As a parent and teacher, I love the website Common Sense Media! This is a great place to check if an app, website, book or movie is appropriate for you child. It does a really good job of giving an overview of the resource and it will point out whether it has violence, inappropriate language etc. www.commonsensemedia.org
