"Love First, Last, & Always"
The season of Lent began this past week, starting on Ash Wednesday, and lasts for 40 days leading up to Easter. It is a time for us to do some “spring cleaning” in our hearts by participating in fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. These practices help us clear away daily distractions and allow us to draw closer to God.
Find out more about Ash Wednesday and Lent in the video clip Lent in 3 Minutes!
In our classrooms, students will be exploring the season of Lent by adding symbols to a special Lenten wreath each week. Watch for this wreath in our school foyer and ask your child about the weekly symbols that have been added in their classrooms.
This Lenten season, you’re invited to strip away the “distractions” in your life and focus yourself on God.

CASINO VOLUNTEERS – BUCPS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
BUCPS is actively looking for volunteers for our upcoming casino in Camrose, on Monday March 23, and Tuesday March 24.
This casino provides much needed funding for the entire Sherwood Park Ukrainian Bilingual program, helping support each school and enhancing the cultural education of all students (Jean Vanier, St. Theresa's, and ABJ).
For this event to be successful and for the program to receive this funding, it is entirely dependent on volunteer support.
*** We are looking for 4 volunteers for each day (8 total). ***
Please contact Jennifer Lychak at bucpssecretary@gmail.com ASAP if you are available to help, and let me know which day works best for you.
Thank you in advance for your support!
LITTLE ORCHARD SADOCHOK PRESCHOOL – Meet our Teacher, Tour the Classroom!
In conjunction with the Kindergarten Open House next week, parents and children will also have the opportunity to meet our Little Orchard Sadochok Preschool teacher and tour our classroom!
We look forward to seeing you there!
LITTLE ORCHARD SADOCHOK PRESCHOOL - REGISTER NOW!
We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 school year! We are an English based preschool program with some Ukrainian fun! Program is for 4 year old's and will be based out Jean Vanier Catholic School in Sherwood Park. To obtain registration forms or if you have any questions, please email either bucpssecretary@gmail.com or little.orchard.sadochok@gmail.com.
*** PLEASE NOTE: The Little Orchard Sadochok Preschool has always ran with a volunteer board, typically comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At a minimum, we require individuals to step up into the President and Treasurer roles - without these integral positions filled, we will be unable to move forward and run the program for the 2020/2021 school year. Fortunately we have had someone come forward to take on the Treasurer role (thank you!), but we are still actively seeking a President for the preschool. Please reach out to your Executive if you have any questions or wish to help. ***
