St. Peter's Postings
Called to be Saints! January 2020
Looking to a New Year!
As we finish up celebrating Christmas and the New Year, we turn our eyes to 2020 and wonder what God has in store for all of us. There is sure to be much learning and continued opportunities to grow in faith and sainthood with each word and act in our daily lives. Each new year and in fact, each day offers a "fresh start" as God's promise of love and grace is ours if we bring Him into our minds and hearts. Each morning at school we pray the Morning Offering and offer up our "prayers, works, joys and sufferings" for the upcoming day. May we all look to 2020 offering Him our prayers, works, joys and sufferings as a school family and as our families at home. Let the adventure begin...
Christmas Nativity Play a Beautiful Celebration of Faith and Saints!
The St. Peter's 2019 Nativity Play was held Friday, December 20th after the school Mass. Despite the flu and a shortened Advent, our first and sixth graders presented a beautiful message in songs and spirit to prepare our hearts and minds for birth of our Savior. Thanks to all students, teachers and the Holy Spirit for a wonderful presentation! See the link below for a recording of the Dress Rehearsal the week before the play.

Rock'n Readers Win Blue at Fall Competition!
The St. Peter School Rock'n Readers won a blue ribbon at the Fall Reading Competition on November 21st at Bellwood Antis High School. We are incredibly proud of our students and their coaches. We are already getting ready for the Spring competition with some new faces working towards being on the team. Student participation on this team is not only fun but has a big impact on student reading performance in school as well. Way to go Readers!!

Christmas Around the World
A Few Tidbits & Reminders
- Anytime the temperatures or wind chill is below 40 degrees, students will be required to have a hat for recess AND GYM CLASSES. Also, if there is snow on the ground, students are to wear boots to school and bring school shoes in a separate bag. This is especially true on Gym Days. We cannot allow students on the gym floor with wet or salt caked shoes/boots to prevent falls and injuries. We do not call home for forgotten shoes or boots. Please keep an eye on the forecast and prepare accordingly
- Reminder to please submit any notes for transportation changes by 9am on the day of the change unless there is an emergency.
Safety for All!
St. Peter School works hard to protect all students with its participation in all state and diocesan MANDATED guidelines and requirements for students and volunteers and employees. All volunteers must have all necessary background checks, clearances, paperwork and trainings on file prior to any volunteer opportunities or employment or to be in attendance at any school event during school or non-school hours. Students in grades 5 & 6 are also given training in the Safe 2 Say anonymous reporting system and all students in grades K-6 participate in the VIRTUS Youth Protection lessons. Links below will take volunteers to the diocesan Youth Protection site for all required items and the second link gives parents more information about the Safe2SaySomething training.
