BULLDOG BARK
Emerson Elementary May 7, 2023
PTO MEETING WEDNESDAY MAY 10TH @ 7PM!
Hope to see you there!
Second Grade Plant Experiments
In second grade we are learning about plants and their functions. We learned about the different parts of a plant and how each part helps it grow. We made plant posters to show the plant parts and what their job is. We also made a greenhouse out of a Ziploc baggie. We learned that a seed begins to grow by undergoing the process of germination, when it first begins to grow roots and a stem. Most of our seeds had sprouted. We learned the basic needs of a plant by doing a controlled experiment. We controlled how much sunlight and water each plant received. We discovered which ones thrived and which ones didn’t grow at all. We had fun becoming scientist and learning all about the plants around us!
