Macbeth

The witches take blame for Macbeth's fall
Comic Relief
“Here’s a knocking indeed! If a man were porter of hell gate, he should have old turning the key. Knock, knock, knock! Who’s there, i’ the name of Belzebub? Here’s a farmer that hanged himself on the expectation of plenty. Come in time! Have napkins enow about you; here you’ll sweat for’t.” (act 2, scene 3) Comic Relief provides a laugh after a darker scene. The drunk porter lightens the mood by acting like he's greeting people from hell. This scene is important because it takes your mind off the intense previous scenes.
Dramatic Irony
Duncan: Give me your hand; conduct me to mine host. We love him highly and shall continue our graces towards him. By your leave, hostess." (act 1, scene 6) Dramatic Irony is when a character's actions are obvious to the audience but not to any of the other characters on stage. Her behavior towards Duncan show Dramatic Irony because the audience knows that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth intend on killing Duncan due to previous scenes that only those 2 characters share, but the other characters on stage, including Duncan himself, know nothing about it.
Tragedy
I just can't wait to be king
I just can't wait to be king- The Lion King
"I'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware! I've never seen a king of beasts With quite so little hair I'm gonna be the mane event Like no king was before I'm brushing up on looking down I'm working on my roar Thus far a rather uninspiring thing Oh, I just can't wait to be king!"
The young lion shares the same traits with Macbeth. They both have a crazy amount of ambition which is what ultimately throws Macbeth's life off. The young lion is just starting to experience the ambition trait so it has caused no harm yet. But the longer you hold on to that trait, the more your good decision making goes down.
The Box movie connection
The box
Norma Lewis is specifically told by her husband not to push "the box button" but her ambition kicks in and she can't resist it. After she pushes the button her family becomes a part of the ultimate life changing game, and there's nothing they can do about it. Norma is like Macbeth because she knows she shouldn't have pushed the button, and Macbeth knows he shouldn't have killed Duncan to begin with.
