Weekly Message from Mrs. Owens
January 11th-15th
Happy 3 Day Weekend!!!
Polar Bear Days
We could be approaching some colder weather....stay tuned to Channel 6 news for an announcement of "polar bear days" (32 degrees or less all day) and you can wear jeans with a professional top.
Easy CBM
Our Easy CBM benchmarks are well underway...a big thanks to Megan for helping it run so smoothly. Our K-3 data wall in the office work room will be updated with the new results soon. Also, K-2 mark your calendars for a class data folder review with me during PLC's on Monday, January 25th.
We will analyze and plan instruction for the math benchmark results closer to February 16th when math PHH begins.
Reading Adoption
The new reading adoption occurs next year and our district has already selected HMH Treasures for K-2 reading.
As you are already aware 3-5 reading will be HMH digital curriculum.
This and That
- Please make sure tickets are submitted for (technology and maintenance). We need to remember they are covering several schools and can't be expected to remember something when stopped in the hall about it.
- Please remember to be cautious when talking about students. It's been reported that some are talking negatively about students in the lounge and we don't want anyone (especially students) to overhear.
- Budgets continue to be very tight.....remember lights outs when you leave the room. I'm going to ask Rick to report any teachers with lamps or lights left on at night to me. This is a very important step to ensure energy and money savings.
