George School's Family Update

November 17, 2017

We are Exemplary Citizens! George School Spirit Day Monday 11/20/17

This Monday is Jessie F. George Spirit Day. Please wear your George School Wear or our school colors, Red and Black. Students will 'Mix It Up' at lunch and sit with different friends. Students will be provided with conversation starters and tips to encourage making new friends. Our Character trait for November is Citizenship. To highlight this trait our 5th Grade Peer Pals have been working hard on skits to perform in each of the classes to demonstrate citizenship and good character for the younger students. Mrs. Rachel Guyt, our school counselor, has also been reading books on Citizenship to our primary grades. In honor of 'Citizenship' we will be collecting Frozen Turkey's and Toys for those less fortunate than us. Please see the details below for these worthy events. I thank you in advance for your generosity, and for the caring examples I see here at George School.

Frozen Turkey Drive Monday 11/20/17

On November 20th George School will be accepting Frozen Turkey Donations and any other non-perishable 'Thanksgiving Food" that you would like to donate. This year we are happy to be working with Center for Hope and Safety (formerly Shelter Our Sisters). Boxes will be in the Lobby on Monday, 11/20/17. Again, thank you for your generosity.

George School Toy Drive for Tomorrows Children's Fund at Hackensack Hospital

George School’s Toy Drive for Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack Hospital.

The Character Trait for the month of November is Citizenship. With some help for our 5th grade Peer Pals we would like to continue helping our community and those in need.

For the month of November we will be holding a Toy Drive for Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack Hospital. Our goal is to collect as many unopened/new gifts* and toys and even gift cards by November 21st. These gifts will be gifted to children and families at Hackensack Hospital during the holidays.

Please drop off all unopened/new gifts in the front lobby.

*Gifts are required to be unopened and new to eliminate any excess germs that could cause illnesses to patients.

About Tomorrows Children’s Fund:

Their Mission:

The Tomorrows Children’s Fund was founded by a group of committed parents to help their children and others like them with cancer and serious blood disorders. With the help of friends like you, today, TCF provides a warm, healthy and loving environment for children in treatment and a full scope of services to relieve families’ emotional and financial stress. In addition to our direct financial aid programs, TCF also offers an array of activities, events, outings, special guests and parties, designed to provide our young patients with a brighter tomorrow. All of which confirms our belief that through hope, hard work and heartfelt generosity, extraordinary things are possible.
