Three Cheers for Aquin Chess!
A New Page in Aquin's History Book!
Congratulations!
Last night, the Aquin Chess team hosted their first-ever chess meet with Freeport and Jefferson. During that meet, Aquin claimed 3 individual victories which have been recorded as the first individual chess wins in school history. Individual winners in yesterday’s match against Freeport were Jeffery Peterson, Jonah Diemer and Rhys Love.

They're Going to State!
Thanks to Coach Flink and his impressive efforts to bring the Aquin Chess team to life, Aquin will be heading to the IHSA State Chess Tournament in Peoria on February 10 and 11. This is the final year that all teams who have competed in at least 3 meets automatically qualify for the State competition. Next year, the 156 team field will be broken into 2 classes and hold Sectional qualifying rounds to advance to State.

Watch for more information on yet another historic day for Aquin when the team heads to the Peoria Civic Center. Next stop for the Aquin Chess team is the NICL tourney at Guilford on Saturday.
