IN THE KNOW! Information to Plan By....
SRI make-ups will be Tuesday Janurary 12, 2016. Please send the names of any students that missed the test to Ms. Jackson by the end of the day Monday.
Bulletin Boards displays in the hallway provide a window to your classroom. The information and student work that is posted should be recent and updated regularly. Please make sure bulletin boards are updated and current by 1.22.2016. Please use the schools bulletin board information card that was shared in your teacher handbook and in back to school emails.
ISTEP+ Support Plans should be in full swing this week. Please make sure we are covering the material outlines by the district. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
Leveled Reader Library will be up and running Wednesday. I am hopeful that the room gets lots of use. Please make sure you follow the check-in and check-out procedures. Keeping this resource in good condition will take all of us working together.
Observations continue this week. I will be in rooms throughout the week. When I enter your room for the observation I will ask to see your lesson plans.
PIVOT Groups start this week. I am excited to get everybody up and into each others classrooms. I believe you are going to see some great things going on in your colleagues rooms. Remember to turn in your completed PIVOT forms to Ms. McCutcheon.
SLO's and TLO's are due to be reviewed by 1.29.2016. I will send out a sign-up sheet this week with available times. This will be an online sign-up.
K-2 Math Assessment this Friday. This is the first of our recently enacted formative assessments. Please use the provided Excel document to record student work.
B.A.R.K. is meant to be a time for math review. During the 30 minutes I should see students working in centers and in teacher lead groups on math. Please remember to include B.A.R.K. lesson plans in your weekly lesson plan submission.
I am looking for teachers that are interested in revamping the lesson plan that the school uses. If you would like to be on a committee that will work to develop a common lesson plan format for the building please send me your name.
WIDA Testing: Begins this month. I will give an update as soon as I have a schedule completed
Continue to focus on the components of gradual release in your lessons, particularly on the focus of your lesson. What do you want them to learn? How do you model this for students? How do you allow them to practice what you are teaching? How do you know they are getting it??
