Patriotic Observance

On February 7, 1964, Pan Am Yankee Clipper flight 101 from London Heathrow lands at New York’s Kennedy Airport—and “Beatlemania” arrives. It was the first visit to the United States by the Beatles, a British rock-and-roll quartet that had just scored its first No. 1 U.S. hit six days before with “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” SOURCE

Winter Spirit Week

WINTER SPIRIT WEEK IS NEXT WEEK

This year’s theme is “Let the Games Begin!” Like homecoming week, each day will have daily different dress up days and lunchtime activities with a rally on Friday after second period with a staff vs. staff Zorb soccer game at lunch to top off the week. Below is a list of days:

  • MONDAY-Valentines Day-Wear Red and Pink w/ cookie decorating in quad

  • TUESDAY-Jersey Day-Wear a jersey or sports attire w/ ultimate frisbee at stadium

  • WEDNESDAY-Among Us Day-Wear solid colors from head 2 toe w/ musical chairs

  • THURSDAY-Game Show Day-Wear fancy/preppy gear and play tennis

  • FRIDAY-Greek Week Day-Wear your class color w/ Zorb soccer at stadium

    • Grade Level colors include: 9th-yellow, 10th-green, 11th-blue, 12th-red

Athletics Announcements

SPRING SPORTS NIGHT IS TONIGHT FEBRUARY 7TH: All potential spring sport athletes and families are invited to attend this year’s Spring Sports night in Doug Hitchen Stadium tonight. The Athletic Boosters will have the snack bar and merchandise room open for business starting at 5:30 before the meeting begins at 6 pm.


TRACK AND FIELD: Attention all student-athletes wanting to be on the TRACK TEAM...We have finished Pre-season Track Conditioning, Now it's time to start running fast! February is when we begin to bring out equipment and learn some techniques. If you want to be on the track team, get out there now, meet near the stadium flagpole at 3:10. If you are still involved with a winter sport, come see us when your sport finishes. You must have completed sports registration with BigTeams and had a physical.

Submitting your community service hours

The Google Form for Community Service Hours is used for the graduation requirement of 20 hours. Any hours in addition to your graduation requirement should be submitted on the Give Back 250 Google Classroom with Mr. Hurtado.

Staff Notices

REMINDERS: STAFF: Wear your ID when on campus. Also, Continue to be diligent about proper mask wearing in the classroom. Refer any issues to grade level admin.


TEACHER PARTICIPATION: As case managers and counselors are setting up meetings with students with Fs, it is absolutely vital and expected that all teachers participate in IEP, 504 and SST meetings. It is imperative that you provide your feedback and participation...a sub can be provided if needed, just let the case manager know. Please indicate on the calendar invite why you can’t make it if you decline.
