Principal's News
It's hard to believe it, but Monday marked our 100th Day of School. What a fun time we had with counting activities, adorable 100th Day t-shirts and special crafts too. Our students had an absolute blast enjoying this special day. On a side note - Monday was ALSO our 5th graders' 1000th Day of School (over the course of their last 5.5 years of school.) That is quite an accomplishment!

Winter Wellness Tips:
As the winter season brings colder temperatures, it's crucial to prioritize your well-being. Here are some tips to stay healthy during the winter:
Dress warmly in layers
Stay hydrated
Practice good hand hygiene
Get plenty of rest
It’s essential to be proactive in preventing the spread of colds and the flu. Encourage your child to wash their hands regularly, cover their mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, and remind them of the importance of using tissues.
If you have any concerns about your child's health, or illnesses that may occur during the school year, please notify the school nurse at 781-319-3985.
If your child had any of the following symptoms today, please keep them home
Fever over 100 degrees (must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of tylenol or motrin to return to school)
Vomiting and/or diarrhea (if your child has had any vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours, they should not return to school)
Diagnosis of communicable disease such as strep throat or conjunctivitis (if diagnosed with a communicable disease and prescribed antibiotics, your child must not return to school until they have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours
Remember, a healthy child is a happy and successful learner.

Library News
This week in the library we read "Winter Magic" written by Eveline Hasler and illustrated by Michele Lemieux. In 1976 Hasler was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Certificate of Honor, an international award that is given to authors who make a lasting contribution to children's literature. This sweet picture book follows a young boy and his cat who go on an adventure in a dreamy winter wonderland.

Taking A Closer Look At Anxiety
Anxiety is increasing among school aged children and often goes misunderstood or unnoticed. It can impact a student’s ability to perform optimally in the school and community environment. To support students with anxiety, we need to understand it ourselves. During this workshop you will learn about the different types of anxiety, how they impact a child’s performance and useful strategies to use and consider when raising a child with anxiety.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and light refreshments.
* If you require an interpreter, please note it on your registration no later than 2/12/2024
Sponsored by the Marshfield Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC)
