Be Kind: In Relationships


Throughout the month of February, your child will participate in lessons and activities promoting kindness to others. We will discuss and evaluate the qualities that are important in a friendship as well as the power of generosity and kindness between others.



What makes you a good friend? What qualities does a good friend must have?

1) Watch Mindfulness/Friendship Presentation
2)Watch How to be a Good Friend video
3)Watch Walk Away video for fun
4)Complete Wanted/True Friend Activity and share your page with me. Also, share your healthy friendship hands with me the ones we did in class today.

SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK

Students and Parents,

This week is National School Counseling Week (Feb 1-5). I have plan out activities for our students/staff to participate all week. Please see attachment to see activities and dress up days for the week. I look forward to see everyone participate and celebrate with me!

BE THE LIGHT THE WORLD NEEDS ACTIVITY!

National School Counseling Week- Wednesday Activity
Theme: Be the light that the world needs!
Wear yellow or neon colors to shine your light brightly!

Activity: Think about ways on how you can be the light that the world needs and write these ideas on a light bulb that will be display in our school hallway (see picture). A light bulb is included for this activity or you can create your own at home. Please share your light bulb when finished so that I can display yours in our hallways as well.

Remember to always "let your light shine" to offer hope, encouragement, kindness and compassion to others.

The mission of Bush’s Counseling program is to provide a proactive, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate program to address students' academic and career goals in addition to supporting their personal and social needs. This is accomplished through a partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and community members to enable all students to become successful, productive citizens and lifelong learners in a diverse and changing world.

Bush Counseling program will empower all students to reach their maximum potential by using a comprehensive program that addresses academic, personal/social, and career goals. We will promote an environment to encourage personal inquiry and growth, social responsibility, and academic excellence. School counselors believe that every student can succeed through the intentional collaborative efforts of school, home, and community leading to responsible and productive global citizens.
